1. if a card lets you search for 2 different cards, would that count as 2 searches for the purposes of music leaders?
2. if a territory class hero is paralyzed, does his ability still work?
3. for a card that their numbers equal the number of cards in opponents hand, if someone plays mayhem, is that character discarded once they shuffle their hand or does mayhem's ability need to complete before the discard could happen?

1. If a card says "Search deck for X. Search discard for Y." then that is two search abilities. If a card says "Search deck and/or discard pile for X and Y" then that is one search ability.
2. Yes.
3. Mayhem doesn't happen in separate "steps" where things can trigger/update in between. The shuffle and redraw is all one step and only instead abilities (RBD) can affect that step.

To clarify, remember that there's a difference between the number of targets an ability has, and the number of abilities used. Similarly, a card that says "when opponent draws..." would go off once in response to Mayhem, but a card that says "for each card drawn by opponent..." would activate for six off of Mayhem.

another related question to #1: for music leader, his ability doesn't activate if another musician used a search/draw, but what in another musician uses and enhancement that's searches/draws? does that trigger it?

A musician playing an enhancement with a search ability is considered the musician using it. It would not trigger music leader.

I actually disagree with the Music Leader ruling above:
"If an opponent uses a draw or search ability (except on a musician), you may search deck or discard pile for up to 2 good cards that involve music."
The draw/search ability has to be "on a musician", not "used by a musician". If it was the latter, then Kevinthedude and The Guardian would be correct. However, the only draw/search abilities that get around Music Leader are those that are part of a musician's written special ability.

This is why it's important to post actual card abilities... ::)
