Please note that, effective immediately, the REG entry for the Toss ability should read as follows, with the bold portion added (the addition will be made in a future version of the REG):
Toss
A toss ability allows a player to play an enhancement in a different way than usual; instead of activating the numbers or special abilities of the enhancement, the enhancement is discarded to decrease an opposing character by X/X (where X is the strength of the discarded enhancement), regardless of protection or immunity.
-
Just a note of clarification--an immune/protected character is still immune/protected if it survives to battle resolution.
Example:
Lone Hero with a Toss ability attacks and is blocked by Prince of this World. The lone Hero can toss enhancements to decrease PotW, but if after all enhancements are tossed, the lone Hero is 5/5 and PotW is 2/4, PotW is still immune and the battle would end in stalemate.
-
Just to clarify, is the discarding of the enhancement regardless of protection or is the decrease regardless of protection (or both)?
Is there a reasoning behind this change?

The clause refers to the decrease.
The reasoning comes from combo abuse, where there were many ways to turn a battle to Toss while protecting heroes from decrease that were a problem in subsequent testing.

Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification! :)

Like putting Joy and Peace on Peter or some other big hero with Holy of Holies active.

This makes Forien Spearman just a little bit more powerful.
