Aww, bummer RR. It looks like Gabe and I are such formidable opponents that everyone is passing on playing us.   ::)   *it is fun for me to dream*    I can play next week Gabe. I'm on vacation and will be around to play.

Mike and I played our first game of the playoffs tonight.  I hadn't seen him online for quite some time so it was great to spend some time catching up.  I won the game 5-1.  He didn't draw many good enhancements but it was really a pretty evenly matched game.

I look forward to game 2 of the playoffs. It was definately an interesting game. I shuffled my defense early in the game and it never showed up properly again. I had plenty of Heroes show up to play, but enhs were sporadic to say the least. Being rusty from not playing didn't help me much at all facing Gabe. Any mistake is capitalized on by Gabe and.........well he doesn't make many of his own for me to do turnabout fair play.   ::)

I won our second type NW game tonight.  I think we might have set a couple records for type NW.  There were 22 Lost Souls rescued in our game, 17 by one player.  Sorry, Scott, there were a couple "redeemed demons" even though we know those don't really count. ;)

Even though I opened up with a large BTN Hero who got a few free souls before Mike found defensers, I think Mike might have taken it easy on me so he could get outside to paintball with his kids. ;D

Yay Paintball. Who woulda thunk that it ranked right up there with noodling, foosball and washers as All-Time greatest sports. Much like kids who play football, soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball and so on.......my kids selected paintball as their sport to be involved in. Fortunately, my wife and I can participate in with them also. It is nice to be involved in the sport with the kids rather than being a glorified taxi to and from 3 different practices on opposite sides of town which is 20 minutes away.   ::)    I consider myself fortunate and blessed in this.

oh, and I wasn't taking it easy on Gabe. I left out a few key cards that woulda kept the score closer possibly, but he dominated from the beginning. If anything, I think he took it easy on me so I wouldn't cry at the blowout.   ;D

I'm looking forward to going  5 games or possibly 7 if we decide we wanna keep playing playoff games. I don't believe STAMP has said best of 5 or best of 7....so we will wing it.   ;)

Godspeed,
Mike

In a standoff between two powerful defenses Mike rescued a Lost Soul as time ran out giving him the win for game three 1-0!  Wow, what a game!!! ;D

If memory serves, Gabe had decked out and I still had 16 cards left in my deck. The game seemed a tad ponderous to me, with neither offense being a shining star, but mainly a defensive slip n slide to keep the LSs from being rescued. There were plenty of LSs drawn early in the game to be RA'd, but not that many RA's took place. An enjoyable game with a couple minor errors on my part and none that I can think of on Gabes. Now on to Playoff Game #4.

Mike

Mike, I've gotta toss together a new deck before game 4.  I should have one together soon.

Scott, have you thought about having a Type NW side event at Nationals?  If you're ever going to promote this category that would be the time!

Mike and I played game 4 tonight.  My offense stunk.  Fortunately for me his defense didn't show up very strong before time ran out.  My defense survived because his deck was missing a key Hero in the brigade he was using that would have ruined my day.  What a game.  Final score was 4-1.  Always a fun time.  I'm looking forward to game 5.

Mike and I played another playoff game on Sunday night.  It ended in a 2-2 tie thanks to me squeeking out a LS on my very last turn.

So let's see, I count it up as Gabe leading the Series 3-1-1?  Mike can still win the last two and force a one-game sudden death.  Good luck to both of you!

Mike and I played another fun NW game tonight.  My new deck took a long time to set up and his protection Fortress was hiding.  A provisioned Seeker of the Lost was able to "Shibboleth" away his entire defense at one point.

I gave up a few souls early, but then my "Fight by the Numbers banding" defense showed up (thanks to King Rehoboam and Captain of the Host).  I was able to keep him from rescuing for a while after that.

I rescued a Lost Soul with only 4 minutes left, to take the lead and the win.  The final score was 4-3.

You don't see stuff like this in T1 folks.  Ya just don't.

Wait... wouldn't captain negate his ability? Also, I'd like to join once next season starts. I'm assuming September?

King Rehab?  Yes, his SA would be negated by Captain.  Negating Rehab's SA still leaves the original battle FBTNb though.  And it doesn't negate it if you have Gates in play.

Twice I got to give Mike my Hur for Captain to fight causing me to draw a new hand.  ;D

Mike and Gabe, great competition!  Sounds like you had a lot of fun.  I'll get prizes mailed out soon.

I will continue Type NW in the fall.

Whether or not I have a competition at Nats will depend on whether Mike and Bryon need my help.  I promised them back in the fall last year.
