Why not just join ROOT?  Even if you just play the 1 game, ROOT is free, so it wouldn't cost you anything.  And you'd be helping someone else in the tournament get some points (2 if they lose and 6 if they win).  And you might even win a prize if that particular game comes up in the random drawing for a booster pack that month.  I don't see any downsides here. :)

It's usually a game or two a month for me.  However, since my lovely wife started going to a Bible study on Tuesday's nights, I might join in a couple of weeks.

We'd be glad to have you (even if it were only for a couple games a month).

Thanks for the offer but I still don't know if I want to set any more time aside (I would feel obligated to play regardless (though I would end up giving a lot of people 6 points :P)).

Actually, only 1 person can challenge you in a week (as long as you don't play that challenge before Wednesday).  So the max number of games that you would "feel obligated" to play in a month would be 4.  And since most people don't play the last week unless their in the top 8, that number is more likely to be 3.

Since you said you already play a couple games a month, this isn't really a change for you.  And it would help other people in the tournament get their games in, and have even more variety in opponents :)
