I cant get it to download and I am getting just a bit hot under the collar.

I am trying to download all the stuff up to FoOF and I cant open the link. Can someone help me?

Right click and hit "save target as".

I'd just like to point out that your title is rather deceiving. You're not having any problem at all with RTS. The problem you're having is with the Redemption Southern CA website. I can't get to it either. I think I have that file saved somewhere. Let me find it and I'll email you a zip file.

OK I have downloaded all the ROA stuff and supposedly I have downloaded the G/h-FooF but I cant see anyo of it in my deck editor? does anyone know what I might have done wrong?

I'm going to assume that you can't even see the card names listed in your deck editor? If that's the case then you don't have the correct cards.txt file. The last step (after installing RTS, then adding the G/H etc. patch) is to download the RoA update and replace the existing cards.txt file with the new one from the RoA download.

To confirm that you have the correct cards.txt file go to the C:\Program Files\RTS folder and double click on the file. If it asks you what to open it with choose wordpad. Scroll clear to the bottom and make sure the bottom line starts with the number 2081. If it doesn't then you didn't put the cards.txt file from the RoA update in the right place.

Once the cards show up we can work on the pictures if they aren't there.

Thanks for the help gabe. It says 2081. so it seems I have the right text file, I just cant see any pics and it doesnt list those cards in the deck editor. In fact it doesnt list any of the newer cards, even the G/H through FoOF that I downloaded before the RoA.

I'm gonna restart the comp and see if that helps

ALso, everytime I fire up RTS it says "Error - This error offured in "Form Activate": line number 40: (Err#481) Invalid picture ( originate with RTS)

It still lets me get to the game screen but it always pops up with that error.

My RTS does that too, but it's never stopped a game so I haven't bothered with trying to fix it.

Yeah, I get that error everytime too. RTS is in serious need of updating and it's frustrating to have to "trick" it into updating when new cards come out, but on the other hand..... I think I gave GamerX 3 bucks for it, so I try not to complain. It really works great compared to the alternative= nothing! lol

That's perplexing.

That file is where the deck editor gets it's information so I'm not sure why the cards aren't showing for you. The only thing I can think of is that the file is in the wrong folder. It has to be in:

C:\Program Files\RTS (does this make sense to you?)

It can't reside in any of the subfolders of RTS or the program won't "see" it. If what I'm saying doesn't make sense please let me know and I can pm or email or call you with step my step instructions.

As others have mentioned that's one of the built in features of RTS.

I just click OK and move on.

Yes it does

I figured it out. mY pathway ( for some reason I cannto comprehend) went C:\program fils\RTS\RTS

Inside the first RTS folder was another RTS folder. The first folder had the updated cards, the second did not. I replaced the the file and it world now. Now all I have to do is build a dek and I will be ready to rock and roll

OK now I have problem with the card art. I have the pics folder in RTS and it includes everything (Even RoA) but when I load a deck on RTS all I see is white cards with words, no art or anything.

help what am i doing wrong now?

When you use the card art you get both. The words show up on the left side under your hand.

OK I have a BUNCH of questions after having tried for 15 minutes to connect to DeathScythe and nothing happened.

1. How do you use hamachi? what is its purpose? I have a "room" in Hamachi called Crustpope1 with no password. He got in the same room I saw his IP but he ( I dont think he could) see my IP. He said I wasn't logged on but when I tried to join a network it said I was already on. I litterally have not clue what I am doing here and I cant find out how to use hamachi. The link in SK's post tells me Nothing meaningful because other than loading hamachi what do I do with it? Do I have to use the "External IP" button or something because that post that SK links me to doesn't help me. I did all that it says. I took a turn hosting with him listening and I took a turn listening with his IP address in the field. I literally do not know what to do.

when I listen, I do timeout after a while and it has to to with that microsoft windsock error message. when I try to load that patch, it loads REALLY quick but then my computer says that it may nto have loaded properly so that may be the problem, but if it is, I have no way to fix it because the patch won't load.

Hamachi is primarily just a chat feature giving out ISPs to connect. You actually connect through RTS. However, you can't host without turning off your firewalls (which I've found out through experience). In my experience, timeouts are coming from when the hosting player still has their firewall up and blocking your connection.

The Winsock error simply indicates a failure to connect or a disconnect (if you were already connected).

I'll join your network and we can try to connect later today to see if we can figure out the problem you're having.
