This error occurred in "Form_Activate": line number 40: (err#481) Invalid picture (Originated with RTS)
Any way to fix this?
-
Not to my knowledge, I just click through it.
-
Yeah, so do I, it's just annoying.
-
Not without the source code.
Actually....maybe....I'll get back to you in an hour or two...
-
Pretty sure that Othaliah is misspelled in the picture file.
At least, thats usually what it is when this thread gets posted.
-
mispelled
Oh the simple things that make me chuckle...

Who's that now?

Doh... Extremely long day at work, now I feel like a n00b.
-
What exactly is Othaliah? What picture file?
-
Othaliah is a red dude with a totally useless special ability.
The Card.txt file points to a different named file than the Othaliah.jpg in the pics folder.
I'm not sure which half is wrong, but thats usually the issue.
-
I can't even find othatliah in either file.
-
The Oholiah error was fixed over a year ago. At one time the card file pointed to a picture that didn't exist. One of the two was spelled wrong.
The error that comes up every time I open RTS is this:
This error occurred in "Form_Active": line number 40: (err#481) Invalid picture (Originated with RTS).
If you click OK everything works fine.
I've reloaded RTS without any updates, in other words, no Priests, G&H or later sets, and I still get that error so I assume it's with the original code.
-
Thats super odd. Because I never get that error.
-
I believe I received that error when I was trying out new backgrounds at one time.
-
RDT what operating system are you running? With how old VB 6.0 is it may well be looking for a system Icon that no longer exists
-
This comp is running XP - I've also got a comp that runs Vista that doesn't error out.
-
I've only used RTS in Windows 7 so someone who is running vista or sooner will have to check that. but I'll see if I can find a fix for this in the mean time
-
I'm running 7 Pro. Doesn't matter what background I use, custom or basic. I suppose it could be because I didn't install the files but copied them from a previous install. I used to only run RTS from a flash drive.
-
I've run it on 7 Home Premium and 7 Pro and always get this error. I don't think it has anything to do with the background since we've all originally installed it with one background and some of us got the error some didn't.
-
I'm running it on 7.
-
XP, and I get the error on both machines.
-
Wait, does anyone get the error while wearing a pink tie?
-
I get an error in my manliness protocol while wearing a pink tie, but it has not effect on RTS

Watch your mouth, boy. One does not meddle in the affairs of John Earley.

I'll let him deal with you, and I warn you he shant be gentle.

I do not understand why he would take any kind of action for me thinking it would be unmanly for me to wear a tie, not him.

In case any one cares, this problem is a result of invalid headers in the image files embedded in the main executable. While I found the cause of the error, I never did find out how to fix it. :p. I remember finding the error detailed in the Microsoft Knowledge base, but now i can't seem to find it. Here's a forum thread though that basically covers it: http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=617968 (http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=617968)
