Hello all,
I'm hoping this thread could spark some interest in the Redemption ONLINE Olympics! I am definitely interested in this and would like to see several more interested as well. I have never hosted anything nor have I ever organized anything like this in my life. So, I'm really stepping out if my comfort zone to do this! If anyone is interested here are the categories I'm thinking of running each day:
Thursday:
T1 2P/T2-2P
Friday:
Booster 2P
T1-multi/T2-multi
Saturday:
Type Half
Teams
Please let me know through thread or PM the category you would like to play.
And Roy, any suggestions would help as I have no idea what I'm doing....lol!
-
I'm not sure how booster or anything would work. But if this is through lackey I am interested in T-1 as long as I can play my games after 6:30pm EST as I'm at work prior.

Lackey has Booster capability. I believe there's a tutorial somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.

And if you pm user "Josh" he can tell you how to do cube drafting if that is your thing.

I would be doing the same! So it's fine!

Just letting everyone know that I would like to have the first category ready to go by Wednesday evening so everyone can start playing on Thursday. I think we would need at least 3 players for t2 2p and maybe 4 for t1. I'm just thinking it would only be one round especially if most players work during the day. What do you all think?
-
2 rounds at least I hope. If we got 4 that leaves 1 undefeated.

My bad....im thinking multi sorry.....so maybe 6 players for each category. We can do 2 to 3 rounds for each maybe....definitely 2.

I see God's hand in all this, my Redemption family. Robin and Kyle, see if you guys can spearhead this. Justin might be able to assist with Booster Draft. We will make sure that the winners will get a prize and that I am sure Cactus and its retailers can all pitch in.
Just get the 1st Annual Redemption Online Olympics underway. You can use some streaming portal that all can watch. Contact JD if he has some ideas about all this.
You are in my prayers, my beloved ones!
-
Hi guys,
this also tempts me. But I fear time difference might be too much - since I also need to work resp. want to spent weekend time with family (beginning not too late in the morning ;D). We're 6 hours ahead of EST.
Do you have any ideas?
Bye

I know time difference can be an issue. However, I think if we get enough players for each category you and your opponent can work something out. There is always playing games in person if your opponent is from the same area as you.
-
Let me know if you need anything else. I work 6 days a week so I can't promise too much but anything I can do to help I will.

If there are going to be actual prizes awarded, they are most likely going to need non-playing judges.

Anyone who could volunteer for this would be great!
I also want to mention that I changed the layout of categories. Friday would be Booster 2P and T1 or 2 multi and Saturday is Type Half and Teams. I changed because I really want to play booster, but my daughter's birthday party is Saturday so I wouldn't be able to play.
Also if we can get one day in of this tournament that would be great! So let's take it one day at a time...😃
-
I would be willing to do my best at judge as i do not play online and can not attend nats. I Will also potentially be able to get in contact with other judges as needed.
-
With the time restraints that we are facing, it may only be feasible to do one round of t1 and t2 2p because of clashing work schedules....unless we extend the olympics a day or two to get more than one round in. So I will be posting the slots for the first category and then you can PM me if you wish to play. I will post 6 slots for t1 and 4 for t2. Please PM me if you wish to be added to a slot. If we get all the slots posted I will ask Roy if we could start tomorrow evening for the first round. Please please please sign up! I'm very excited about this!

Hi again,
I'd also like to support - but will be limited in online availability due to said time difference and working days / familiy.
During my online times I'd be able to judge in categories I will not apply for (well while I never did this before).
But as mentioned: Please keep in mind my limited availability!
Instead of/in addition I can also support tracking results, making lists etc.
Regarding playing: I do not want to be grinch when applying for a category but then cannot be available for playing - dispossessing my opponent also from the fun of playing this great game! So if you will not list me in categories I might apply for - this would be also fine for me.
-
I am so proud of this pioneering endeavour and pray that the pioneers become the precursor and example for future online events. Kudos to all participating in any way. Love y'all!
Peace.

Count me in for T-1. When will booster be on saturday? I will be at work but I get out at 1 and am home by 2pm EST that day. I can also help with scoring if needed. Need to know if we are going by lost soul diff or total lost souls for tie breaker though.
-
Lost soul differential is what I would assume, total rescued can result in to many ties still
-

Well I only have three people so far. I need more than that unless two play and the third scoops third place. We would only do one round.

Or do each person plays each other and the person with the most points/lost soul diff wins swiss style?

So we can split the games between tonight and tomorrow.

With 3 people you should do round robin, each person plays 2 games and gets 1 bye, 3 total rounds

Checked a little regarding live streaming of PC games. At least my Laptop would be far too underpowered. But there seems to be several opportunities like twitch or others.

Thanks Reth. I actually did Facebook live last night with silencedmatrix! So Facebook live will do for now. The only bad thing is that if your opponent watches when you play they can see your hand.
-

I wanted to encourage you dermo to keep up the good work. I was sad that I couldn't participate in this either, but I didn't want you to be discouraged. You're doing a great thing!

The next category will hopefully be played tomorrow after me and reth's type 1 2p match. It will be Booster 2P/T1 Multi!
I'm planning on getting Booster going around 9pm as it would be after Reth and I play (Reth and I need to play first due to time constraints.) The way the tournament is going so far, it looks as if we will be extending to Sunday/Monday. I will post a sign up for Booster and Multi together. The plan is to play them simultaneously. I would like to do tins plus the last few box packs: Early/Persecuted Church, CoW, RoJ, and FoM. We can boost in a group and then play 2p games. I plan on playing booster so I may need some help from someone who would be willing to monitor the multi games...if any. Thanks to all who have helped and played thus far! More to come! Please sign up!!

5-4 Reth won. Super close. GG Buddy I'm going to go be a sore loser now lol.
Confirmed. Also GG to you! Indeed it was really super close. But no need to feel like that, even more since you're still leading! ;D
And at the end it was drawing luck on my side - not playing skills.
This was epic and a battle of the rules! Thanks also to Jeremy and Robin for judging us all the long time!

Great game! But Reth you are in first as you still have a game to play vs me. Silenced played his two games...a win and a loss. So differential will be the determinator....lol.

Unfortunately, we won't be playing those categories. I won't have time to run them. It's no problem. I will just play my final 2p match with Reth and thatbwill be the end.
