Nationals Side Events

Iron Man
Players check in a type 1 deck and get 10 "chips" (a unique set of identical cards). Throughout the tournament days, they find other players and play their iron man deck. The loser gives one of his chips to the winner. At the end of the tournament, all players turn in their chips: Whoever has the most unique chips wins.

Garbage Sealed
Each player brings 7 no SA souls and receives 4 packs each of Originals and Prophets. They then build a deck from these packs, using Sealed rules (trading with the person across from them).

2018 Winner: Dario Villanova
2017 Winner: N/A
2016 Winner: Dario Villanova
2015 Winner: Jon Masters

Cube Draft
The host puts together a "cube" of cards. All cards are good (or at least playable), from various sets. They are pre-sleeved. These cards are then split into envelopes, each containing ~20 cards. Each player receives four of these envelopes, as well as a set of 8 identical Souls. They then draft with these envelopes as in Booster.
2019 Winner: Jeremy Chambers
2018 Winner: Greg Miller
2017 Winner: N/A
2016 Winner: Daniel Huisinga

Type Half (deck building and gameplay):
4 Good Characters
4 Good Enhancements
4 Evil Characters
4 Evil Enhancements
4 Lost Souls (no 2 or 3 Liner Lost Souls)
5 Others (Includes Sites, Fortresses, Artifacts, Covenants, Curses, and the Hopper Lost Soul)
0 Dominants

If a card could fit more than one grouping, the player may determine where it is allocated.
Total deck size for all Type Half decks is 25 cards, exactly half of the minimum deck size for Type 1.

Additional things that make Type half different than other Redemption formats.

Opening hand is 4 cards.
Draw 2 cards per turn.
Hand limit at end of turn is 4 cards.
Rescue 3 Lost Souls to win.
Souls may not be placed into sites.
2019 Winner: N/A
2018 Winner: N/A
2017 Winner: Jayden Alstad

PoGoMan
Similar to Iron Man, players check in between one and three Pokemon Go accounts capable of a Great League battle and recieve a set of chips for each. They then participate in PvP battles with each other, the loser giving a chip to the winner. At the end of the tournament, all players turn in their chips: Whoever has the most unique chips wins.
2019 Winner:  Gabe Isbel

Anybody remember the winners from Cube draft and/or Garbage Sealed last year? I seem to recall a 5 player multi game deciding one of those but don't recall which one...

Wasn't that Iron Man?

No, I'm pretty sure Josh won Iron Man outright and the multi game was for one of the other events.

I did win Iron Man that year but there was a multi game for those tied at second place which was won by Sergei Creech.

Ah, that sounds right.

So does anyone recall if the other events ran last year?

The Cube is Travis', and he wasn't there last year.

Garbage Sealed also seems to be run by Travis, so it may not have been run either.

Good point about the Cube so that's probably the case.

I have no idea about the Garbage Sealed...it's possible everyone was just doing Type Half and Iron Man.

Updated for Nats 2019! Unfortunately there was no Iron Man this year, and Daniel may have killed type half, but Cube Draft and Garbage Sealed were a blast and the all new PoGoMan was added to the lineup!
