I am working on setting up my computer with the tournament tracker to imput the data for NYstates this year.  I am having trouble getting the list of players in game summary to be pair up for the first round.  Macros are enabled but it doesnt seem to be working. Any advice?

thanks

Is this for type 1 or 2?  I know that when I worked on this for a previous tournament, the version I had did not have the macros correctly applied to the pages that managed the T2 games.  If you know how to read/write macros, you have to go into it and find those missing pieces and copy them in from the T1 pages.

If this is your problem, let me know.  I'm working on it now to see what I did last time...

Tournament Tracker has never worked for me. If anyone could update it to make it work properly on poor-man's computers, that would be greatly appreciated. I would do it myself, but I have MDD (Macro Deficit Disorder).

Korunks and I plan to try and work through another option for a tournament tracker.  He would like to write it in Java, and I told him I would help him translate the Excel macro currently available (since I have experience with this).

Hopefully we'll be able to do this at some point soon :)

I have Excel and Java experience, and emailed/PM'd him about it, still haven't heard back.

More than likely it has to do with what version of excel you're using. I'm guessing you have a newer version that the one it was made for, where as, having seen how old his laptop is, I can guess that Roy has an older version, possibly 2003 or older.

Just because you can open those files doesn't mean that the macros work right. In fact that's probably why it doesn't work.

Never had problems with it before. now if i was the only one having problems, i'd understand. But it seems to be many people are having issues with it also

It's working fine for me in Excel 2010 Academic. I did have to click enable Macros and it took a second to figure out how to use but it works about as well as an excel spreadsheet can for this.

Excel Macros do not work in Open Office

I was about to argue that I have used plenty of excel macros in Open Office, then I read down in that post that some macros DO work in Open Office, but a lot don't

Microsoft would not give their precious macros to a free software.

old well i guess its back to pen and paper for us here.  I was hoping to have this on my new computer but of course it only came with excel starter, without macros.
