Alright, everyone breathe. There's no need to let this escalate in a public forum. You should probably take your respective cases to the tournament administrators, and figure something out. Let's remember that this is still a Redemption Tournament where the main objectives are fun and fellowship.

I have hinted about this for a week now. It is official, I would like to be removed from the Redemption Online Official Tournament.

If anyone sees me on Hamachi and wants a fun game, then ask please.

Blessings

Just to let everyone know, the edits for the rules of the March ROOT are posted here.

Highlights include:
--There are no more challenges.  They have been replaced by 1 game each week that is assigned like a swiss-style regular tournament.  These games must be played on RTS unless both players are willing to use an alternative.
--There are no more limits on how many bonus games you can play or who you can play them with.  There are only limits on how many total bonus points you may get in a single week.
--The 5th-8th round-robin is no more.

After you read the new rules:
If you decide to participate in the March ROOT tournament, go here.
If you have suggestions about the new rules, go here.

So does this mean I can play 10 ROOT games in a week?

Yes, but the max points you could get is 4 + your challenge outcome.

Well sounds like I will have to try to download a windows emulator.  Otherwise no one will play me strictly on chess chat or aim.  Guess thats the joy of having a superior computer, a mac.

It's not really the fault of the operating system that the vehicle of choice for most players is the volunteer effort of a lone programmer.

Back in my day, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, all games were played over AIM.

im still a little fuzzy on bonus points/games. from what i gather, we can play as many bonus games as we want and gain a max of 4 points...so, any person that plays at most 4 games will get 4 bonus points whether or not they lose, correct? also, do bonus points from rank work the same as the last tournament? + 1 each rank for beating someone above you? do bonus points gained from rank difference apply to the total cap of 4 bonus points per week also?

Correct.  These games are great for trying out new deck ideas, and simply reward people for participating more by playing more.

Nope.

there are no more challenges...

btw, i love the way the new bonus games work. i've always wanted to test out new decks for root, but didnt want to risk a potential loss for it. excellent idea.

also prof, how do the bonus rank points work exactly? and what about my last question...do bonus rank points count towards the total point cap for a week?

I'm glad that you like some aspects of the changes we've made to ROOT.  We feel this will be for the best.

The only bonus points awarded with the new Swiss style system is for bonus games.  No bonus points are awarded based on another players ranking like we used to do with the old system.
