I haven't played ROOT before and I'm not ready to yet but I have questions for possible future membership.
1. How many games are played per week?
2. How many games are played per tournament?
3. Do you have to own the cards or can you build with anything?
4. Reallistically, how often do you have to be online to get your games in? What type of availability do you have to have? At what times of the week/day are the games played at, typically?
5. Has anyone tried PBEM for their root games?

1. Just one.
2. Depends, anywhere from 5-7.
3. You don't need to own the cards.
4. You're free to set up a time with your opponent for a given week, and as long as you can agree on a time, your availability just has to be enough to play a full game, whether it be 5 minutes or up to 2 hours.

1. You are assigned 1 game per week.
2. One game per week for however many weeks are in the period. So a 6 week ROOT Tourney would have 6 games.
3. No. That's what makes ROOT great. Newer players with limited card pools can play and test decks all they want without owning the cards.
4. Games are played at anytime. Basically the best way to set-up your game is to send your opponent a PM with your availibilty and try to set-up a time to play your game. Make sure to save all your PMs!
5. I haven't and doubt anyone else has. Games are usually played through Redemption Connect or Hamachi.

thanks for info. I asked about the scheduling because I'm not always sure when I can be on for long enough and I don't want to end up ghosting and being banned.
5. was a joke (play be e-mail). Maybe I got the abbreviation wrong? but that is how I thought I had seen people use the term. With the amount of decisions in an average length game and including asking for intitiative, I think that it would only entail a few hundred exchanged e-mails. Definitely faster than playing by regular mail.

The way us old-skoolers did it before these fancy-schmancy Hamachis and Redemption Connects was instant message. Then we'd walk 5 miles to school in the snow with no shoes uphill. BOTH WAYS.
