Title: Online Platform
Post by: Farmer_Maggot on October 14, 2014, 01:34:08 PM
I played the Lord of the Rings online TCG and Everquest's Legends of Norrath online CCG.  Both were very successful, both having a large play-base.  I have hoped that Redemption might see the value in following what they have done and establish a legitimate online game.

There would have to be an official launch of the game by Cactus, which means it would have to be able to support itself financially.  Both LOTR Online and LoN Online were functional games that required players to purchase digital packs with digital cards.  Each game was a little different and there were different ways to earn "points" towards online packs (winning tournaments, draft leagues, etc) for each game, but both platforms were and are effective.

I may be barking up the wrong tree, but I'd like to see this kind of platform for Redemption.  With all the internet gaming going on these days, I can't see how this couldn't work.

I'm new around here, but not new to CCG's.  I wonder if, perhaps, Cactus is missing a great opportunity.

Just a thought...

We have a lackey plugin and a basic table simulator with the RTS.  Asking more than that is a very large commitment in terms of time and coding.

It is, if the plan is not a business plan to create an official Online Redemption CCG. Lackey is good for casual play and ROOT tournaments. The alternative would be a fully automated platform with integrated game play functions, rules, phases, etc.

It would be a monster project that would require not only an investment, but ownership by Cactus games.

...just an thought, as I said. There would be a lot to "count on," so to speak. For one, a committed player base.

My understanding is that this is what Redemption Live! (http://redemptionlive.com (http://redemptionlive.com)) was supposed to mature into.

Unfortunately, the opening for such a project has probably closed at this point.
