Title: Just to let you know...
Post by: Professoralstad on February 17, 2011, 10:50:23 AM
ROOT Players have through this Sunday (February 20th) at 11:59 PM PST to get their games in before Round Robin starts next week. So far no one has played more than two out of a possible six. Even if you're playing against someone you think will probably beat you, you: A) May surprise yourself and win or B) at the very least, get a point, which puts you ahead of the people who haven't played their games yet. Just sayin'.

Agreed. I think we've exposed an enormous flaw in the new format: no scheduled games means depending on luck to even get your games in, let alone have a winning record. I've played everyone I've seen online that was not AFK at the time (and I'm sure I've been on the AFK'ing side of things too), which is two people.

So it seems. My hope was that people would schedule games amongst themselves, so that it would be in each other's best interest to show up, but I understand how not having any punishment for not showing up to a scheduled game makes people less likely to play.

Any ideas on improvements to this system? I was hoping for a positive enough response to make this the default format, but I also want a format that encourages people to play more than they have been.
