The rules for challenges will be mostly similar to before, but you are now able to challenge anyone you haven't played in an official game, and you can also challenge people who challenged you earlier in the month. This is so there should always be at least one person available for you to challenge every week. Each person can still only be challenged once per week.
In order to issue or accept a challenge, post on this thread, and PM your opponent to set up a time to play. Make sure to check this thread to ensure that your challenge is valid. A valid challenge for a certain week will be listed as "X Challenges Y" under the heading for that week. A challenge that still needs to be accepted will be highlighted in bold. See below for an example.
Week 4 Challenges must be made by Monday, Dec. 27 to be valid
Please Note: Since available challenges are very slim this week, it is possible you will have to challenge someone who has been challenged already this week. This is only allowed if you have no other choice. I am hoping the extra time will allow those games to be played. Remember that when people challenge you, it can be worth bonus points for you, so two challenges can be beneficial as long as you have time. Under no circumstances can someone be challenged three times this week.
X Challenges Y--This challenge is valid and still needs to be accepted by Y.
Q Challenges R--This challenge is valid and has been accepted by R.

Challenge Availability: This table shows who you can and cannot challenge in a given week. Each person has one row with 10 columns (representing the ten participants). You can challenge anyone whose column cell in your row has an A (available) as opposed to an S (swiss opponent) or a C (challenge opponent). Because of the lesser amount of people in the tournament, you can challenge people who previously challenged you, but you cannot challenge people you have challenged or played in a swiss game. The last row shows who has been challenged so far this week. I will keep this updated as much as possible. So you can only challenge someone if there is an A in your row, their column, and an N in the last row, their column.

If we were in the same room, you'd be singing a different tune. Personally, I think the challenge system is bogus and should be utterly abolished, along with bonus games, but hey, while it's there I'll use it. I am still baffled as to how #2 gets matched with last.
