I think we could work around that.  Just make sure that you let me know ahead of time which week/s you won't have internet and I won't assign you a game for that week.  That way, you won't get any victory points, but you won't get a -5 LS differential either :)

If it turns out that I can't go to the regular Nats, then I will co-ordinate an online Nats Alternative again this year.  However, I'm currently planning on being busy in MN, so someone else would have to run it in that case.  Are you volunteering?

RTS. ROOT stands for Redemption Online Official Tournament. I think they all you to play your games in person though, provided you can meet up with your opponent which is rare.

You can still join, and you can use any cards that are in RTS.

I'll try to get the pairings posted soon for the 1st round to start.  Due to the number of people playing this will go for 5 weeks, and will be an August/September tournament.

I probably won't know what week it is until it happens because with the start of school it is busy so I will try and do a swiss game every week and hopefully it will work out all right. My main problem is I have to go to bed earlier on school nights so those who stay up later I won't be able to play at there convenience.

ROOT is primarily a T1 tourney.  But if both players in an assigned game WANT to play T2 with each other, then that is also acceptable :)

I went ahead and added you to the list.  As for your game this week, there are a few options:

1 - If RDT or MKC decide to wait until October, then you'll play the other one.
2 - If RDT & MKC both/neither decide to start, and someone else also decides to start now, you'll play that other new person.
3 - If RDT & MKC both/neither decide to start, and no one else joins, you'll play Warrior (who has a bye)

How many Haman's Plot cards can I use during a monthly tournament?
You can only use Haman's Plot in 3 games per monthly tournament to simulate entering 3 decks.  If someone rips a Haman's Plot against you, then please report it when you report the outcome of your game.

I just got knocked out left right and center by Captain Kirk by a combination of picking the wrong deck, not concentrating and of course the tiny little mistake of playing mayhem with RBD up nd taking out your own SoG. 5-0

Yeah, I just got knocked out left right and center by Captain Kirk by a combination of picking the wrong deck, not concentrating and of course the tiny little mistake of playing mayhem with RBD up nd taking out your own SoG. 5-0 We're hoping to get another game in where  we actually have a decent game. This is the one that counts of course though.

It was indeed full, but I just cleared some room so that more people who are currently playing in ROOT this month can join it.

Group = ROOT 2012
Password = ROOT

Due to the number of people playing this will go for 5 weeks, and will be an August/September tournament.
There should be three more weeks after this one, correct?
We are currently starting Week 4 of the Aug/Sept ROOT.  Therefore, we have the game for this week as well as another for next week remaining.

I won 5-4. The game was ridiculously close, and it was only by what I believe to be a moderately clever play by myself that I managed to pull out the win (I used Wanderer to exchange for his 2-Liner after he'd used SoG/NJ then buried the Wanderer in his territory). It's hard to say anything else without spoiling his deck, but I had a blast playing.

Congrats on 6000, and congrats on the win!  Although the last rescue was incredibly lame (due to a special ability that should've never been invented), the rest of the game was REALLY fun.  Feeling like I was coming back the whole game from the other incredibly lame thing that happened on the first turn was really intense, and if I just had a couple more breaks (like you drawing more than 1 LS in the first half of your deck), and it could've gone the other way :)

Title: Re: August ROOT

You'll be able to join in the next tournament, in October.  You can play in any Hamachi group, or otherwise, if you're so inclined.  (I've heard that two brothers were in ROOT, and just played in person when they faced each other.)

Kittens is right, that you probably want to just wait one more week.  Then you can join at the beginning of the October ROOT (which will actually start in Sept).  There is only 1 week left of the Sept ROOT at this point.

The ROOT thread is full at this point, but if people aren't going to be playing next tournament, then I'll evict them from the group opening spots for others.  Also, if you work out a time to play your opponent by PMs, then you can always both join the group: I'm LFG at the time that you plan on playing.  The password is: currently and there is always room in that group because people just leave the group when they are no longer available to play.

I've heard that two brothers were in ROOT, and just played in person when they faced each other.

That would be Asahel and I. We actually did this for the first time tonight. I won 5-3. He does not appreciate Burial or Mayhem now.  ;D

BTW, sorry to everyone I was supposed to play this month and didn't. It was a lot easier to do this tourney in the summer, when there isn't school, etc. As a result, you will not see my name on next month's list.

EDIT: LOL at Asahel ::)

Congratulations to our top 3 for this past month's ROOT!

I was especially impressed with Randall who went undefeated through a really tough schedule.  Along the way he beat #2, #3, #4, #7, and #12, which definitely earned the title.  Don't listen to him when he tells you that you can't go thinking he's good at this game :)
