Noob question: Peter/Andrew vs Foul Spirit
BeaverQB:
Sorry if this is a bad question, but my family just got Redemption to pass the time under quarantine, and we keep running into this problem when we play the I/J starter decks.
Player A plays Peter (negate demons) banded with Andrew (may band with Peter). Player B plays Foul Spirit (negate heroes).
Does everyone's abilities get negated? And if so, doesn't that mean Andrew's banding ability is negated, so Player A must withdraw Andrew?
Thanks!
Red:
Foul Spirit's ability is preemptively negated by Peter, so he never gets a chance to negate Andrew and Peter.
Heroes enter battle before evil characters, therefore a negate ability on a hero would prevent an evil character from activating.
BeaverQB:
Thank you!

There are no bad questions. Red is correct on how it plays out.
One common mistake I do see in your post is that negating Andrew's band would remove Peter, not Andrew. Character abilities activate when they enter battle, so Andrew enters battle BEFORE Peter. Negating a band just doesn't really come up with the starter decks, since Peter and John negate Foul Spirit, and the I deck has nothing to negate the Ruth band.
