If I have a card that negates an opponent's hero, does that mean everything about said hero is negated? Are his power and defense numbers wiped out, any text that give him any abilities are erased,etc.? Or is Negate not quite as powerful as all that?

Negate stops special abilities. It doesn’t do anything to a cards stats.
