Need help with a scenario

I am making a rescue attempt.

I have Covenant with Phinehas activated as my artifact ("Protect your Priests from the house of Eleazar from
discard abilities on evil cards").

I make rescue attempt with Azaraiah the High Priest (he is from the house of Eleazar, "You may draw a card. If King Hezekiah is in play, you may search draw pile for Storehouse or Solomon's Temple and put it in play.")

Opponent blocks with Beast from the Sea (no special ability)

Couple of non-important enhancements get played before opponent decides to play Christian Martyr evil dominant ("Discard any Hero in play.")

Here's the question: does my artifact protect my priest from discard from CM, or does a dominant trump all?

Cov with Phinehas does protect from CM.

Dominants are not affected by negate, prevent and interrupt abilities, but they can be protected against.
