Banned Cards

(1/2) > >>

pinkfloyd:
Redemption has been remarkable in that of all those CCGs I played starting in 1993 (Year zero for Magic the gathering), only Redemption and Star Wars- among the major games- had no cards that were banned.  Ever.  But I realize there was a need to ban a small number from Redemption recently.  My questions are:
1.  Is there a list of banned cards in the Exegesis book or the big glossary/dictionary, or anywhere?  I'd like to get a copy to add to my rules.
2.  What is that Lost Soul card that was banned?  I looked it up in the Three Lions index, but couldn't find it.  The code name started with "L" but I don't recall it off hand.  But if someone could let me know which set it's from and what its effect is, I'm pretty sure I can find it.
Thanks again.

RedemptionAggie:
1. There is not an official list of banned cards, because it consisted of 1 card (basically) a month ago and the rules documents haven't been updated since then.

The current list of banned cards:
Lost Souls (2-liner)
Lost Souls (3-liner)
Samuel (RA2) (the one that searches for David/Saul, draws and bands)
Mourn and Weep (PoC)

2. The Lost Soul card that was banned is named Lost Souls (plural, not singular) - it comes in 2 versions, named the 2-liner and the 3-liner because of how much space the ability takes on the card. They're both from the Limited/Unlimited/Original set, I'm not sure how it's referred to on Three Lions.

Watchman:
Usually the souls, prior to being given actual nicknames, went by the scripture reference for retailers. The reference for the liners is Prov. 22:14.

@pinkfloyd For future reference, if you need to look up a card by card name, card type, special ability, brigade, etc, feel free to use my site. The site is very user friendly and has many search options. Here’s a link to give you an example of how you can search. If you type in any part of a special ability (or the name of the card, or course) in the search bar, it will give you the options. The drop down list is a way to search by card type, set, etc.

Thanks guys.  And the look-up page has been bookmarked.  Very handy!

JohnDM:
HUh- why was Lost Souls banned? I've had it since '95 or thereabouts...hate to lose it.
