Title: Three Woes playmat NOW for sale!
Post by: Watchman on July 05, 2019, 10:54:56 AM
I'm looking at possibly getting some playmats made using the image from Three Woes (alternate border) for sale at Nationals, and any time thereafter.  Before I do, however, I'd like to see who would be interested in purchasing one so I can order the proper quantity.  The image layout will look like this:

Spoiler (hover to show)

It will include YTG's logo and website (most likely in the bottom left corner), and possibly the phrase "It's Woe Time!" either under the logo and website, or along the bottom of the mat.

I'd like the community's input on the following:

- Would you purchase one (it would be in the $20 range)?
- Would you want the phrase "It's Woe Time!" on it or not?
   - If so, where would you prefer it to be (bottom left corner under logo, or along the bottom of the mat)?

Please reply to this post with your interest and suggestions!

I'm in. Would prefer no "It's Woe Time" but that really doesn't factor in.

I am interested. I don't know how much the wording you choose affects the cost, but I would love to see Revelation 9:12 along the bottom right edge (either the full verse plus the reference or just the reference).

I would be interested. I like guardians idea. Also I think it would be cool if the one you had at nats said"nats 2019" or something about 25th year.

Three Woes!? No! Do AoC like this one!

1. I like both 3 Woes and the AoC artwork, sans the overlay on AoC. I don't like detracting from the artwork and most players set-up how they want anyway.

2. I like the idea of adding the corresponding scripture reference or full verse.

3. I like the idea of adding 25th Anniversary to the mat, or at least to a limited run. This is history.

Godspeed,
Mike

Awesome playmat, Matrix! I've always loved that AOC image!  ;D
I can't take credit this was lambos design from many years ago

Well we already know Lambo's awesome, but you're still awesome for sharing his work!  ;D
Haha thanks man, I wish he'd come back and help me redo the layout because he did amazing work!!!

So I love the idea of doing something special for the 25th Nats with a limited run (such as 50), and I think the AoC image would be perfect to use since it’s one of the most popular and legendary Nationals promos. I would love to use that image but the actual image has the overlays on it, and that won’t work. I could try and use the original AoC image but I would need to make sure it’s a high res image.

I could also do the Three Woes playmat but make it specific to a YTG production, and I can do that a a later date.

So long as there’s enough around time I can try and get this done.

I can tell you 100% if you do one for 25th anniversary I'll get one. Maybe 2

I'd be much more likely to buy a Woes playmat, but do agree that AoC seems very appropriate for the anniversary.

Would 100% buy a Woes playmat from ya! You know I did this mock up? Specifically for the full art version.

If you want I could even polish this up for this format and do the logo or whatever you want on it I think I still have the file for it :)

I’ll go ahead and use the Three Woes image. Thank you for everyone’s input!

I’m going to try and get the final design submitted by the end of this week. If I have enough time I’ll post the final image on this thread.

AoC would be great, but I think you would need to secure the rights to the artwork. Woes must be public domain.

Correct, which is one of the reasons I decided not to use AoC. Permission, high res image, etc.  It’ll be easier to go with Woes.

@Cnakeeyes - They’ll be around $20 to $25.

A suggestion was made to me that instead of making it specific to the 25th national tournament, to make it broader to celebrate the 25th year of Redemption so folks who can’t attend Nats can still purchase a playmat to celebrate Redemption’s 25th Anniversary.  I very much like this idea and will tweak the wording to reflect such.

I just want to make sure that Redemption is in its 25th year of existence and not just the 25th national tournament that’s been held. Is this correct?

According to Covenant Games, the very first official Redemption tournament was held at the Origins Game Fair, which took place July 13th-16th, 1995.

If you consider that as the very first "National tournament," then both Redemption, which was first distributed in July 1995, and the Redemption National Tournament are now in their 25th year of existence.  8)

If it started in 95 it'd be the 25th year of existence, but wouldn't next year be the actual anniversary?
Title: Re: Three Woes image playmat
Post by: Watchman on July 12, 2019, 07:05:55 PM
Since 2020 will be the actual 25th Anniversary, I’d rather wait till next year to do a different playmat that marks that special occasion, instead of making a playmat that reflects the 25th national tournament.

For this year I will use the Three Woes image for a different playmat that won’t be specific to the tournament but will keep it general for purchase after Nats to anyone. I will have the scripture / scripture reference on the mat and YTG’s logo.

Title: Re: Three Woes playmat NOW for sale!
Post by: Watchman on July 18, 2019, 11:42:22 AM
I’m excited to announce that the mats have been made and will be arriving soon! Therefore, I am opening pre-orders so you can grab and go at Nats without worrying about paying for it then.  Or, if you can’t make Nats, they will ship to you once the mats are received and ready to be shipped.  Here's what to do:

- If you plan on picking yours up at Nats, please click on the link below, add how ever many you want to the cart, and at checkout select the "National Tournament Pick-Up ONLY" option under shipping.  This pick-up option is also good for any other products (i.e., cards, sleeves, deck boxes, etc.) you would like to purchase now and pick up from the YTG table at Nats.  You will not be charged shipping if you choose this option.

- If you will NOT be attending Nats, please click on the link below and place your order with whatever shipping option you prefer.

The mat will still be for sale at Nats if you wish to purchase it there. The pre-order is just an opportunity to reserve yours now and not have to worry about paying then. It will still be the same price now as it will be then.

Thanks for your support! You guys are a great community!

Derek

Are there any of these mats left? or a way to order one?
I am just getting back into redemption after quite a few years and saw this mat after browsing the community!

Thanks so much!

Would you happen to remember the site you used?

Or is there a place I can find art work with out the card type or info boxes? There are so many cards who's art work is second to none!

To the others, thank you so much for responding! And it's good to be back!

The Artwork should often be freely available. If nothing else helps you can do a web image search to find the sources (e.g. from card images you can take from RedemeptionDB or so - this is also what I did when trying to find the artwork of the 3 Woes playmat).

I can try to dig for that site but I don't know if it would help you much since it was a German online store. But there are several such services out there in the web also certainly in the country you are in.
