Title: Selling a Set of Nationals Promos
Post by: TimMierz on June 01, 2009, 01:43:34 PM
I'm looking to sell* a complete set of Nationals promos. That's Authority of Christ, Mary's Prophetic Act, Walking on Water, Elijah, Priests of Christ, and Split Altar.

I'll sell the cards in a set for $95 $75, or individually as below:

AoC - $25 $20
PoC - $30 $15
SA - $20 $15
others - make an offer

I'd rather sell them in one fell swoop, but if I don't get any set offers, I'll do individual cards instead. Post or PM any offers.

* I'd prefer to sell the set for cash, and I don't want to trade for other cards. I will consider trades for complete board games (or mixed cash & games), however.

Updated prices. Are these unreasonable? They're about 75% of the listed price on Three Lions/Bany.

Yeah, I would say they are probably unreasonable.

AoCP usually sells for $25
MPA, WoW, and Elijah rarely sell at any price.
PoC really varies a lot, but $30 is probably an average price.

SA is really hard to tell.  It was selling high earlier, but I think it was inflated by being "the newest national promo" and by everyone thinking it would get an errata to be super powerful.  But then it didn't get the errata, and so now you have a decent enhancement that can only be used by green heroes.  I don't think people will pay close to $40 for that.  Maybe $20.

I think you could sell those 3 individually at prices like suggested, or you might be able to sell the entire set for $95.  But it is a buyer's market right now because everyone wants to save their money to go to the State/Regional/National tournaments this summer, and to buy the new set when it is released.

Thanks for the advice, I've never sold cards before. Prices updated per your suggestions.

I'm buying sets of Nationals promos in mint condition for $50 if you don't find someone who's interested. :)

Those are actually really good prices.  I guess people just feel like they are about to get a free set in a couple months and are willing to wait.  I bet if you tried again in September that you'd get some buyers at these prices.

My worry is that they'll be worth even less once another batch is unleashed upon the world.

Ken, I'll consider your offer, but that's definitely lower than I was hoping for.

Tim, no problem. I just wanted to put a floor on your price. ;) And I have definitely noticed that the value of National promos is highest on the message board before Nationals and lowest right after Nationals. Typically, I will buy 10-15 sets of National promos in the fall for $50 each from people here that have multiple copies.

Sorry, as you can see on the first post I'm not interested in trading for other Redemption stuff. Let me know if you're interested in a purchase though.

Are there other cards you would sell besides these?  I'm looking for a good deal on several DONs.  I have TexP cards that I thought people would trade DONs for, but so far that has not happened yet.  Any other good cards in your collection for sale right now?

Thanks to the people who took me up on the offer. I've sold one set, plus my other Priests of Christ. I still have the other promos, which I'll sell as a $60 set for anyone interested.

Crashfach, I'm sorry but your request came after my last PoC was already sold.

Ebridge, check your messages.

Thanks all.
