How long is too long for purchased cards?
« on: September 17, 2010, 02:31:56 PM »

I am impatient to a fault.  I admit here that when I purchase cards I want them right then and there.  And since I figure everyone is like me, when I am the seller or work out a trade I get my cards mailed within 48 hours (usually 24).

But I'm wondering what a "proper" mailing time should be?  In my case right now I paid via Paypal one week ago, the cards are only one state away, and I neither have the cards nor a message explaining any delays.  Has it been too long or do I need a wait a while longer?  I sent the seller a follow up pm this morning.

Thanks for the advice.

Emergencys and things happen.  I would say without a msg, cards should be in the mail within 3 days.  A week isn't too bad though, but after a week you should get a msg at least letting you know of the reasons for the delay.  Unless there's a real emergency or problem with the person you're dealing with which makes the cards kinda back burner.

I only accept cash as a seller, so i always ship out next day. I don't like waiting more that 3 days after the seller has gotten my money to receive the cards

It could also be the shipping company.  I'm assuming you've got a tracking number.

awhile ago I seem to remember that there was a post office problem in Roanoke. could be that. could be that the person is super busy. check when the last time they got on the boards was. then start sending them over 9000 pms explaining you want your cards.

They were on the boards today.  And I do not have a tracking number because I never heard from them after sending the money :(

I will say who it is in about 24 hours if I/we don't hear from him during that time.  Still trying to give him the chance to remain anonymous right now.  In my case I have sent him over $60 total, so we're not talking about a small transaction.

also, you could talk to somebody from their playgroup. if their state is listed, this thread can find 'em for you.

If this is the person who I think it is, then they have a history of being slow to send cards.  I discovered this by checking up on them in the "references" part of the forum (which is why I set up with them to mail first before I send the Paypal money.)  I recommend that everyone use this resource here on the forum if they are trading or buying cards from people.

I think the rest of us have a right to know, before we send money to this person too. Please PM me to let me know who it is, so that I do not become "their" next victim.

I agree. This is exactly why we have a reference system. Granted, it wasn't too hard to figure out (one state away from Virginia), but this is principle.

give the cards a few more then three days guys, that last thing i mailed out (on the 17th) has yet to arrive. and as a matter of fact the last few trades i have sent have been notability slow in the mail system. one package going across town took an odd 4 days (i could have taken it faster)

it's all good, like i said in another post, i'll be satisfied as long as they arrive as described :)

Well, I got the cards.

Packaging: A+
Shipping Time: D-
Deal as described: A
Cards came as described: C

Cards were packaged phenomenally. I would have liked to have gotten them a long time ago, but like I said, that wouldn't be a big deal as long as they came as described. It was a good deal in the first place. However, in my particular opinion the cards did not come as described. I asked him

K all cards are within 60/40 and ur total is $35 what kind of payment are u using

Please let me know if you are willing to ship right away, and also reconfirm one last time that the cards are in mint per this definition:
Mint (MT) -- A card with four sharp corners, 50/50 centering, no imperfections or signs of wear. Even cards straight out of the pack do not always grade mint.
Redemption = you can't see any white in the red border on the back of the card, and when you shine the light off of the card, there are no imperfections to be seen.

Well all the cards are mint, except there are a couple with 60/40 centering

k and none of the cards are damaged

I would say 12/20 cards were not mint ($15/$35). None of them were bad though, but not mint.

I consider this neutral feedback. and generous

Not sure about other states, but WV is going through a lot of post office changes.  Not to make an excuse, but that could be a reason for some delays.
