Title: Card donation?
Post by: Maynid on November 17, 2010, 12:18:34 PM
Hello, I am very new to this game (have only read the online rulebook!): having given up MTG several years ago after accepting Christ, I have continued to be enamored with the CCG realm. I have a 6 y/o son I would like to teach/play the game with, and work it into his homeschooling routine.  Problem is finances are very tight....would anyone have any cards they would be willing to donate? Condition doesn't matter to me (unless *very* worn), nor does rarity; I would just like something to start with until I can afford to buy some packs.  God bless, and thanks very much in advance. Can respond here, or my email is maynid@aol.com.

Send a message to The Schaef. He runs The Storehouse which gives cards out to new players and playgroups.

Also keep in mind that if your son is only 6yrs old, you might want to keep the game really simple at first while he is learning.  For example, you could only play with characters and enhancements without any special abilities at first, and completely leave out artifacts, fortresses, covenants, curses, sites, and weapon-class stuff.  And keeping everything one color is also a good idea.

Then gradually start adding in special abilities one at a time (banding, then discard, then capture, etc.)  Finally start adding in the other card types.  If you go slow, he should be fine.  I hope you really enjoy playing together.  I know that I do with my 7-year old daughter.

DaClock, thanks I will msg him!

Prof...yes, after reading the rules I agree!  On the flipside, I have a pretty smart 6 yr old....teaching him chess, and he's picking it up quick. I like Redemption to teach him more critical and creative thinking. :)

Ha ha ha .... I guess you are right about young blood.  The kid at the Christian store here in Glen Cove (the owner's son) who I have been playing with never told me his exact age, only for me to find out that when I taught him he was just 6 and a quarter.  I'm amazed coz he was playing G/H.  Wow....

Peace all!

I learned at 7/8 does that make me smart?(Of course I thought doms could be used twice but one rule mistake isn't bad for like 7 right?) Oh BTW 6 1/4 is amazing for G/H.

He's not an expert, but it's touching each time say for example he asks to play the John deck each time.

And so... thank you to all who have and will continue donating to those in need.

Godbless ALL!

He must not be that smart if he's always asking for the John deck. The Exodus deck is way better... ;)

Anyway, Maynid, welcome to the game. I recently gave away most of my extra cards, otherwise I'd love to help you out. But hopefully the generosity of others will be helpful. May I ask where you are from?
