Title: Buying Cards
Post by: Warrior King on July 27, 2015, 09:08:54 PM
Hello everyone. I am in discussion with a friend and we are looking for some advice on me purchasing cards from him. What is the normal way of pricing them that most of you use. Do you use 3LG and pay full price or do a percentage of that when buying from an individual seller? Thanks.

What I would do is to buy them from him for what he is offering unless it is more than tlg prices, but I am no elder or anyone so that is just my opinion of what I will do

You should be able to pay a percentage of TLG prices.  The only way to demand full TLG price is for high-demand cards.  Shipwreck, for example.  Usually, 50% off of TLG is a good starting point, although now that TLG prices are lower, I can see going closer to 75% as still fair.

Condition of the cards also plays a role. Buying from TLG means you are getting mint cards whereas buying your friend's old deck cards probably means they aren't in mint condition anymore.

Thanks for the input so far guys. He has been with Redemption since it got started and most of the cards are in NM/M condition. I figured that it would be somewhere between 1/2 - 2/3 of 3LG prices. I just didn't want to lowball him on the price.
