Title: Anyone interested in a Netbook?
Post by: Professoralstad on February 16, 2014, 09:39:33 PM
Hey everyone, I have just replaced my 10" Netbook (Samsung NP-N130) and am looking to sell it. It is in fair condition aesthetics-wise (some noticeable scuffmarks on the cover, and a little black piece that covers one of the hinges is missing) but otherwise it looks fine. It comes with Windows 7 Starter and MS Office Pro Plus 2007 pre-installed. As far as other specs, it has a 65GB HD and 1 GB RAM with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor. It's a bit old as far as computers go (I'd guess 3-5 years...I got it used about 2 years ago) but it still runs okay, though a tad slowish at times. The battery life is pretty good, I'd say that with light to moderate use it can last 2-2.5 hours or more.

I'm looking for something in the $60-70 range (including shipping). I could also accept a trade of several high-value cards (probably at least $100+ value on TLG) though cash offers would be favored above that.

If you would like any more details or pictures, PM me your email address and I can send those to you.  I will probably be putting it up on eBay later this week, but I figured that there are quite a few people who have been in the market for computers on here in the past, and I'd like to deal with people I trust. Let me know if you are interested!

My battery life on my laptop doesn't exist (5-10 mins off charger) so I've been considering getting an internet and microsoft word in class machine. Do you think your netbook could suffice for those needs?

Definitely. That is what my wife used it for. It has Word 2007, but I think it can still handle files from 2010 or later (as they are all .docx files).

You will both be receiving an email shortly.

I just sent you a PM then saw this thread. Why did you choose to replace it?

Ken

My wife needed a computer for school, as well as a tablet for work, and I was able to find a good deal on one of the new Tablet/Laptop combo machines. That's pretty much the main reason. For me, between my work and personal devices, I have two laptops (one that I essentially converted to a desktop since the battery is shot), a tablet (and soon to be another one) and three smartphones. This does not include either my wife's new computer or the Netbook. So I figure at least a little reduction is probably a good idea.  :) (In case you are wondering, I work for Verizon, which is why the device count is so high).

If Josh (or someone else who needs it) is able to work out a deal, it's all theirs. If nothing works out, let me know. I'm not going to bid against others who need it more, it'd just be a luxury for me. For reference, I'd be interesting in doing some sort of combined cash/cards option probably.

PM replied to and offer accepted. Once confirmed, I will close the thread.

I wish (Well, not really, I'm pretty content with my income). Perhaps if I could sell all of the devices I get from work, I'd be a bit richer.  ;)

Thanks for letting me know. I was probably going to go with the first offer I received anyway, but it's nice to know that I don't have to pick between competing cash and cash/card offers.
