Title: Accepting Offers - Nemesis
Post by: Gabe on December 12, 2011, 12:52:18 AM
Apparently my current nemesis (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/profile/?u=1068) has  resigned without notice (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/redemption-market/leaving-the-game-selling-card-lots/). His notable achievements as a nemesis include:
nem·e·sis/ˈneməsis/
Noun:
If you believe you're capable of filling these rather large shoes, please PM me with your résumé. Pay commensurate with qualifications.

So based on the third achievement, does this mean your nemesis is guaranteed to get the new setlists early?

If yes, SIGN ME UP!  ;D

I'm not sure if I'm available for nemisishood.  I was attempting to be Greeson's, but he's just too nice of a guy for a nemesis.  (That, and it's pretty difficult to uphold your nemesis duty when you're co-hosting tournaments).

A qualified candidate will have the skillz to aquire the new set list through less than honorable methods.

Like finding it in a public google document!

Okay. That wasn't how I got it. But still. ಠ_ಠ.

Hmm, well I have managed to see the lists early three sets running now.... are those skillz enough?  ;)

Pfft!  I know every card* on every list.  I just don't know which card is on which list.  ;)

(* I have a book that lists every card.  :D )

Well, is it far beyond the relm of possibility that the VP is just waiting for that moment when the Pres gets mono.....?

place below an 11 year old girl
Who was top 10 at nats this year, only two places behind you and ahead of Tim Maly and Justin Alstad. Just sayin'.

Olijar is a Buffalo Bro. He is the closest thing to Sauce. I fear there is nobody who can come close to matching Sauce.

  • slapping me silly with a variant of my own deck several times
  • handily beating me at a district tournament causing me to place below an 11 year old girl
  • leaking an unreleased set list to a portion of the Redemption community

So the key qualifications are to slap you and beat you? I think I might like to give this job a try.  ;)

I once talked to a 10 year old girl. Is that good enough?

Lets see, I wouldn't mind taking up the post but I like slapping people with my own decks, I don't live close enough to you to even attend one of your district tournaments and putting out the set list would go against my gut so unfortunately I can't do this.

Let's hope December birthdays mean national champions!

I'd consider applying except that in order to be your nemesis Gabe, I'd first have to be rid of my own nemesis. Anyone that can take care of a Hobbit for me? He may seem harmless, but don't let the hairy feet fool you. He's dangerous.

Do we have to be in the same state?

Formal Application-
1. Learning many of the many mechanics of the game from you and being notably hard to teach, effectively making me your student.
2. Losing to you by one turn at the most recent national tournament.
3. Playing about on the level of an 11 year old girl.

I can vouch for the last one.

The pandering in this thread is sickening.  :maul:  (  ;) )

I am TOO good to be a nemesis.  I refuse to be a nemesis because I'm TOO formidable, so much so that I'm over-qualified.  Gabe, you would lose your legendary status on these boards.  I am doing you a favor by not applying and keeping my name withdrawn.

You are lucky that I am this kind.   :rollin:

For the record, I was serious about wanting to slap and beat Gabe..... thirty-six times in fact.

This may very well be true. He is an original. After he was made I heard that they broke the mold and beat the mold maker...

3. Playing about on the level of an 11 year old girl.

Never underestimate the power of a RLK...

Sorry, my kids already "beat" you to it.
