Cactus Game Design Message Boards

Since today is basically the first day of the 2011-2012 season (and the first day of the rest of my life, lol), I am hereby announcing that I intend to run for President of the United States!! return to the game of Redemption.   

To commemorate this auspicious occasion, I am announcing my first special offer on my trade thread.  Please send me one A New Beginning that you have autographed (address below).  Throughout the tournament season I will only be using a T2 ANB deck.  I will randomly select 4 autographed ANBs for each deck I make for EACH tournament I attend.  If I place 2nd in a tourney I will send each person who is represented on an ANB in the winning deck a random RA2 card.  If I place 1st, I will send each person TWO random RA2 cards! 

*UPDATE*  If I don't place, I'll shuffle the four ANBs and pick two; those two will receive a random RA2 card.  This will also be valid for online tournaments. 

*Further update*  My return is on hold.  Apparently my agent will need to work out some particulars, but suffice to say I'm ready and in shape to start playing.  But this is a business and the business part will need to take care of itself first.

*Even further update*  Between his agent's urgings and all of the fan mail from his adoring fans, STAMP has finally signed a letter of agreement for a one-year deal to come back and host and play.  The agreement was signed in the 11th hour after an exit clause (aka errata) was added in the unlikely event that STAMP gets a new boat.

I have tons of autographed cards which are the prize of my collection, especially an autographed rookie "Gabe" card (who is now in the Hall of Fame).  I would like to have an entire wall of autographed ANBs!  I only have 11 so far, so I have a long way to go.

For those that don't know me you can be sure I will make good on this offer.  Just ask some of the veterans around the boards.

So we sent you a New Beginning with our name on it and you may send us one random card from the new tins or maybe two? Just one card or a whole set?

One random card for 2nd.  Two random cards for 1st.  Tell you what, for 1st I'll make sure the two random cards come from the same tin, i.e. I'll randomize the tins first, then the cards.

Now that I think about it, I'm giving myself too much credit.  If I don't place I'll draw two of the ANBs at random and send cards out to those two people.  I'll update the top of the thread.   

You may autograph them anywhere you'd like. 

Yes, you may send 4 to increase your chances.  If you do, maybe you can autograph them in some fun fashion - e.g. use four different Sharpie colors. 

Well I think I just might do that. I know of no better cause to donate cards to. =) And good luck... It'd be nice to see ANB make a comeback.

Well it would be some comeback since they've pretty much put it into a coma.   

That being said, I think a realistic goal for me is that I get ANB revived enough that it becomes a thorn in the side again.  At that point, I foresee that either ANB or I will be banned. 

Does the signature have to be in Roman characters? I hope not...

You could sign it in hieroglyphics if you want.  Just be sure to have your return address on the envelope.  I'll be creating a small spreadsheet to keep track. 

I wouldn't expect a lot of success though Stamp. The last time someone called their OWN press conference announcing their intentions, they lost pretty bad in the finals.

John, keep up the great work you're doing in the NE.  I'm a little jealous though, since you have so many people available in such a concentrated area.  777Godspeed and I have lots of mountain critters.   

Do you want my real name or my Screen Name?  Also, given my fondness for ANB decks, I wouldn't mind an autographed "STAMP" card.

It can be either, especially since you are a member who doesn't change their screen name.

Believe it or not i ACTUALLY have  ANB signed by Rob. It was the first card i got signed by him. Lol...

Well, you should keep that one. I doubt Rob needs any of STAMP's RA2 cards...

That's the plan.  With the boat gone, the money saved from fishing trips will go in savings.  If I only get to two out of state tournaments this year, it's Wild Bill's and Nats...in that order. 

If you send the ANB from your 2nd place deck, it will probably go in my binder on the same page as my Gabe rookie card.

Yes, the comeback is hanging by a thread.

But keep the ANBs coming...I may find another use for the ANB wall I create.
