Which is the better Redemption hero?
-
This is really tough, but I like Hur.
-
I think Hur's reached the end of his scope. I've voted for him every round, but Jacob's just too versatile.
-
I might switch my vote to Hur. Jacob is pretty awesome though...
-
Simeon/Jacob would have been close, but this is no contest in favor of Jacob.

He's not actually versatile at all. He plays Genesis enhancement that, other than RTC, should be played in battle, and he bands to Captain. That's about as far as his uses ever go.

My most recent booster deck disagrees.

Wow, Booster. Why would you even mentioned Booster? If you are voting on booster, we should just have nommed MEn of Judah and given them the win (or Phinehas the win).
-
Hur is definitely more versatile just because of Gifts. He can go in a speed deck, a green deck, and an A-Bomb deck.
Jacob can go in an FBTN or Genesis deck.
As far as power goes, none of the enhancements Jacob can play are very effective anymore. Banding to Captain is meh, with so many 12FGs running around. He's really easily stopped. I'm switching to Hur.
EDIT: NO MORE SWITCHING VOTES? WHY?

He's not actually versatile at all. He plays Genesis enhancement that, other than RTC, Obed of Noah, Answer to Prayer to find one of those two, Abes Servant to Ur, should be played in battle, and he bands to Captain. That's about as far as his uses ever go.
Fixed.

Abe's Serv to Ur prebattle is meh. Only good when playing an autoblock deck, which have less and less popularity.
-
Jacob goes in FbtN, Genesis, and CTB. That's just as many decks as you listed for Hur, except all three of those decks are still good (old-school Speed is dwarfed by Disciples speed).
RTC is still good pre-block if done before they get Golgotha, after you get Benedictus, or any time they're using Brown (still a popular defense).
OoN is good all the time, and very few decks have more than 3 cards total that can do a thing about it (and all 3 are easy to draw out).
Numerous as the Stars=CBN banding and +1 deck speed.
Abe's Servant is not as good, but makes a handy Ira replacement if you haven't drawn him or have lost him already.
Plus he can band to Captain or any other angel. What's not to love?
-
Meh. I guess with primarily playing T2 this year, I've seen waay more counters to CtB than most people use in T1. Usually it's KotW, but sometimes Kir is used. Gates and Unknown Nation always work.
-
Hur got toasted by Nazareth...please Hur/Gifts me when I have Nazareth down, I'll draw just as fast as you do...
Jacob/Captain still wins battles all day long.
-
I don't even know how Hur got this far, but at this point it is obvious that Jacob is better.
-
Justin Alstad rolled me with a Captain band last tournament. Even while I had Holy of Holies up....
-
Well, when you're primary evil battle winner is Balaam's Disobedience, that tends to happen... :P
-
Jake for sure.
