Which is the better Redemption hero?
Asahel and Moses both defeated powerful and fast rookie heroes to create a rematch from last year: http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/redemption-march-madness/the-elite-eight-asahel-or-moses/ (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/redemption-march-madness/the-elite-eight-asahel-or-moses/)
Has the meta changed enough to yield a different result?
Has the introduction of Bravery of David and Ishmaiah raised Asahel's stock enough to surpass Mighty Mo'?

Moses isn't found in many decks that aren't Sam (or otherwise FBTNB) this season. Asahel isn't found in many decks that aren't Sam (or otherwise FBTNB) this season. However, Asahel is better for a Sam deck I think. Ishy can band to him, he can band to a large complement of heroes, he has the CTB ability, he can use Bravery of David, and he's overall a much more versatile and useful hero, not to mention his protection against withdraw and return abilities, which everyone in a while wins a battle or two.

Does Asahel + Grapes still work?

Does Asahel + Grapes still work?
No, it hasn't for a while now I don't think.
-
Moses SHOULD NOT have beaten Sam. But he's definitely better than Asahel IMO.

Since this is a rematch, let's see what I thought last year...
Asahel is essential to any Red deck. Moses is essential to any Gold deck.
Neither of these are very good at the top level. Point - no one
Actually Red decks and Judges/Angels decks got a LOT better this year. But neither is top tier, and they both are about equal imo, so I'll still give no points for this.
Asahel is easy to splash into any deck as a 2 card combo with Grapes for an auto win. Moses can be splashed with Transfig into any deck with White heroes for a very likely win.
Top decks have Grapes anyway, so it takes less, and is more likely to work with Asahel. Point - Asahel
Asahel+Grapes doesn't work anymore, and no one plays with Transfig, so no points for this one this year.
Asahel is not really useful in other decks (except for the Grapes play). Moses can also be good in a FBN deck, or a few other less powerful decks due to his MANY identifiers.
Versatility point - Moses
Asahel goes in FBNB decks. Moses goes in FBN decks. Both go in Sam decks. This is a tie, so no points for this either.
Asahel can't win battles by himself. Moses can.
Raw power - Moses
This is still true, therefore it seems to be the only determining factor for me between these 2 heroes.
I love Asahel, but winner = Moses

Correct. It was interesting reading that old thread.

This is one of the hardest votes for me so far. I use both in my Sam deck. I do think Asahel is better though. Banding to either Ishmaiah or a FBTN guy is awesome, or he can CtB.
-
Moses didn't deserve to win. I would have voted Sam over Asahel in a heartbeat, but Asahel is better than Moses.
-
One does not belong with the other :P :-X

I'm going with Asahel on this one, Moses is part of a great FBTN band, but Asahel can be part of a great FBTN band too, and Asahel can CTB if need be.
-
It's ironic that Moses gets referred to as being in a "sam deck" so I vote Sam.

Ashael has so many new options this year. We haven't brought up that he can band to King Amazing, to protect Ahimelck from Martyr.
