WINNER: Assyrian Archer
-
Does anybody else think it's weird that Assyrian Archer is a number 1 seed, and favorited to win Pale Green's bracket, and yet no other archer made it past the first round? Pale Green is in need of some strong characters...

No other Archer has access to an unconditional d2 play next. A band of Assyrian Archers can do what no other group of Archers can do without help: draw 6-10 card, kill 3-5 Heroes in a territory, and end the battle, and survive. Also, the fact that Pale Green's best characters of the past few years have largely been multi-colored magicians hurts them in this competition.
-
They've gotten as many useful boosts as silver has recently.
-
Actually, the multi-color thing is a very valid point. King Manny is one of the best evil characters in the game and is pale green.

As is Damsel...she got upset (in my opinion) by Scribe last round though.

Eygptian archer can do the same thing, only he cannot be riding the ponies.

The horses doesn't let the egyptian archers play next though
-
That is what i said.
-
Which entirely defeats the purpose of having archers and horses.
-
Not true. Just add an evil character onto the end of the band with Horses.
-
But you can only play one enhancement...
-
not in t2.
-
If you place spears on the (X = number of ) E. archers and end the chain with another guy and horses, you can...
1) Discard X cards from an opponent's deck
2) Kill X of their heroes
3) Draw two and to play Wonders Forgotten
4) Remove four good cards in their discard pile from play
5) Save the archers lives
All of that and you are complaining about not being able to play more enhancements? That sounds like a kitten whose eyes are bigger than his stomach. ;)
-
Gold doesn't really need to play other enhancements. Just one and the heartburn's done. Pale Green you can do stuff like confusion, but it really isn't necessary. Gold does it just as well. Crimson not quite as well...

I just want a viable deck discard strategy! Is that so hard to ask? There's so many ways to stop it.

OK, Kittens, I have talked to the other members of the Totally Wicked Combo Board and they have authorized me to release the following information to you...
1) Place five copies of Warrior's Spear on five red banding dudes (one each).
2) Place five copies of Egyptian Spear on five Egyptian Archers (one each)
3) Place Egyptian Chariots and Horses on Huge Egyptian
4) Activate Hidden Treasures.
5) Make a RA with a Green Prophet and drop Sowing the Seed on your Egyptians
6) Wait
7) Wait some more
8 ) While waiting draw Warriors Maharai, Claudia, gold Simeon, Jacob, and Warriors Seraphim (the band to green not the band to blue one) from you deck
9) Wait just a bit longer until all the Egyptians are converted.
10) Make a rescue attempt banding the red dudes together and then using the last one to band to Maharai who bands to Claudia who bands to gold Simeon who bands to Jacob who bands to Seraphim (the green one not the blue one) who bands to your green archers who band to your green Huge Egyptian.
11) Make them discard 11 cards from their deck.
12) Draw 2
13) With the horsies play next, play Primary Objective and discard your hand--forcing your opponent to discard his hand (probably eight cards) or just give you a free lost soul.
That is 19 cards, and you can have 5 copies of PO in your T2 deck. Since 19 x 5 = 95, most people you play against will only have five-ten cards left in their deck. after you get the combo rolling.
Psssssst. Don't let anyone else know. Ring Wraith is planning on using this deck at Nationals.

Few are good though.

MJB, that was a fun read, but there are SOOO many better things to do with red. All you have to do is put [edited by ROSES] on [edited by ROSES] and... oh, never mind. You'll see. :)
