Title: Gold Round 1 - Herod the Great v. Herod Agrippa II
Post by: Chris on June 20, 2014, 05:43:12 PM
Herod the Great
Search deck for Herod’s Temple. Return all but one Hero in battle to territory. Prevent good banding abilities. Cannot be prevented by a Hero.

Herod Agrippa II
Negate protect abilities on Fortresses. If a Hero withdraws from battle, you may capture it. May band to a Sadducee. Cannot be negated.

I'm surprised this one is so close. Being able to search for Herod's Temple is so good, and returning all but one CBP kills some decks.

Banding to a sadducee for huge numbers isn't bad though. It's a strategy that Tim used well in his deck last year at Nationals.

Right, but it's not as good as searching out Herod's Temple.

Hey,

There are a lot of characters that can search for a Fortress and Herod the Great can be negated.  There are very few evil CBN banding abilities on evil characters with more than 4 toughness and Herod Agrippa II makes Escape to Egypt CBN and Herod's Treachery CBI.

The real question is why are two of the three best gold evil characters head to head in the first round?

Tschow,

Characters weren't tiered within their brigades, they were randomly seeded. Only the brigades themselves were voted on.
