Title: LackeyCCG Plugin--Beta
Post by: EmJayBee83 on March 15, 2014, 08:58:26 AM
Hey All,

The newly updated version of the Redemption plugin for LackeyCCG can be found at

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dqk9n95kpleizw7/AAA5iwAihZEGsu4M2yaCXIWka (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dqk9n95kpleizw7/AAA5iwAihZEGsu4M2yaCXIWka)

There are three files found here.  You will only need one of the three...

Full-1.2.1.zip is 147 MB and contains all of the cards. It is intended for people who have not installed the Redemption plugin previously.

Update-1.2.1.zip is less than 4 MB and contains the configurations for all sets, but only contains images for the Early Church set. It is intended for players who have been using the Redemption plugin previously but have not upgraded to the 1.2 version.

DecksAndPacks-1.2.1.zip is a 500kB patch file that contains only the newly updated decks and packs files. This is for players who previously updated to the 1.2 version of the plugin, and then found that the starter decks did not work and that they could not play booster/sealed.

Each of these zip files contains a README.txt and another zip archive. The README.txt contains installation/upgrade instructions. Please *read* the README.txt before you install/upgrade  your system.

Notes: The cards and card abilities are those of the 2nd printing, as I was not sure how cards in the original printing were to be handled. Now that that information is available, I will create a second, smaller update that has just the 1st printing cards which are different from the final versions. I will let you know when that is ready.

During the original 1.2 update, I changed the set names to reflect the actual name of the set, and retired the field RealSet from the configuration file. This was done to clean up the plugin, to make maintenance easier. Unfortunately I did not realize that this would break all existing decks that had been created. This update contains new version of the starter decks, but all previous personal decks will need to be rebuilt, and I apologize for that. If anyone has a deck that they cannot recreate, please figure out a way to send me the original and I will update it for you.

Thanks to mathman1550 for updating the starter decks (and providing some new ones). It would have taken considerably longer to get this out, had I needed to do the work myself.

=========================================
    Previously in 1.2
=========================================
This is the update to support the second printing of phase 1 of the Early Church release. In this upgrade changes were made to the names of some of the existing cards that were reprinted in The Early Church. So, for example, The Apostles version of "Blinding Light" became "Blinding Light (Ap)." This was done to keep the naming uniform with what had gone before.

There are some other notable changes:

A major shout out goes to mathman1550 who did the lion's share of the clean up work in the 1.2 release and has implemented a number of other changes.

Lastly (but not leastly ;)) thanks once again to Rob Anderson for providing permission to and support for distributing this.

Answers to Questions

Q: Does this program work on both Windows and Macs?
A: Yes.

Q: When I click the plugin link, I get the Red Mega logo and that is all.  What's up?
A: It appears that Mega has issues with IE (or maybe vice-versa). I have cross loaded it to Google Drive.  The link is in the original post.

Your computer/browser must not want to load the page. What browser are you using?

What browser are you using? I just tried downloading and everything works fine for me with Chrome and Firefox, but I get a (seemingly) similar freeze on IE.

I may have done something wrong but keep getting this message when I try to the run the application.

The program can’t start because RakNet.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I redownloaded all the pieces twice but continue to get the same message.

I'm having troubles getting the Redemption plugin to work. I extract it into it's own folder in the Plugins folder, and it appears when I search for it, but when I select it the chat shows a "Can't save prefs" message.
Title: Re: LackeyCCG Plugin--Beta
Post by: EmJayBee83 on March 16, 2014, 09:32:06 PM
@jbeers285: After you unzip LackeyCCG you should see a file named RakNet.dll in the same folder as the LackeyCCG.exe executable. Do you see that file?

If not, can you go back to Lackey download (this should be named LackeyCCGBetaWin.zip and be found in your Downloads folder unless you chose to save it under a different name or move it somewhere else), and check to see if the zip file contains the RakNet.dll?  It should be in the folder named LackeyCCG of the zip file.

@Chris: It sounds like your LackeyCCG installation does not have permissions to write to the preference file.

The preferences should be being saved in the Preferences.txt file located in the LackeyCCG/secure folder.  (Secure should be parallel to the plugins folder.) The first thing you can do is bring up the properties for secure and Preferences.txt and check to see if you have write permissions.

Could you also try starting LackeyCCG by right-clicking on the app and then selecting the "Run as administrator" menu option?  Does that appear to work?

I found this (http://www.lackeyccg.com/forum/index.php?topic=2082.0) on the LackeyCCG site, so it sounds like I may be on the right track.

One general note--the LackeyCCG tutorials are fairly decent when it comes to learning how LackeyCCG works. By "fairly decent" I mean much better than I can explain in general.

I got it figured out now and was able to load the starter decks. this is awesome I am so pumped about it thanks man.  Also how do we connect with other players?
The first thing you want to do is click on the Preferences tab at the top of LackeyCCG, select the Player Profile sub tab, and then give yourself a Player Name (jbeers285, mayhaps?). Then click on the save button on that screen.

Then you can click on the Server tab at the top of LackeyCCG, which will bring you to a page that looks like this.

Click on the button labeled "Connect to the game matching server!", and that will bring you to the lobby, which looks like this.

The lobby shows who is currently logged into the server (do you see me there?), what games are in progress, and gives you (global?) chat capability at the bottom. If there was a person hosting a Redemption game, you would see it in the right hand list box. You could select the game and then do a join.

All TxP cards or just some of them?  I just did a quick check and I don't get an image for Jaddua, son of Jonathon.

Didn't get the image where--in the deckbuilder, the game, both?

Crud, I see the bad books.  I must have mucked something up in one of my table sorts. This one is going to take a bit of time to fix (as in maybe not til next week or so). Sorry 'bout that folks.

I went out with green/teal Aaron and Moses, but he saw green Aaron and Moses and the Elders.  After that we realized that we saw none of the same cards.  Some were close, like I saw the new cheribim, but he saw the old one.

Weird. There is a description of something similar on the LackeyCCG boards (http://www.lackeyccg.com/forum/index.php?topic=1284.0). I am guessing one of you have a bad card data file, as all of the above could eb caused by an off by one error.

We both reloaded, and I was able to play someone else fine.

Can you provide me a couple of example of "huge" cards and a couple example of "normal-sized" cards?  That will help me track things down.  It could just be the foils that make them look bigger.  ;)

The TxP cards that are enlarged have a larger file. When I edited the size of the card to the same size as the normal cards it was fine. Much like when you create an avatar on a forum and if its too large it wont show up.

I played Red and Mitchrobstew and everything was fine except for thier enlarged TxP cards because of thier file size of the cards I'm sure.

Against Nameless I have no idea and we havent played again yet...( I'm usually available after 10 pm est BTW :) )

Alot of the pics of cards with " " in the name have no pic.
Some cards have double pics (in my file anyway) like Pretention with a (TxP) version and a (Tp) version

Crud.  You played other people and things were fine.  Nameless played other people and things were fine. This is not the answer I was hoping for.  ****KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!****

Sorry for the outburst.  Did you download your copy of the plugin from Mega or from Google?  Maybe the two are different (don't know why that would be) and you, Red, and MitchRobStew got one version while Namelese and the people he has played got the other.

The original beta download is still the only download available (so 175 MB or so).

I am in the process of putting together a new distribution that should be ready in the next couple of weeks.

Items already fixed:

Items still scheduled to be fixed:

I also will have a couple of "how are you using Lackey" questions I will post in a separate thread that may cause some changes.

This distribution is also going to be a full bundled distribution and will overwrite the existing files. So it is going to shrink by a few 10's of MB (at most).

Following this, I am planning on working on a release that separates cards by set/expansion. That will provide the foundation for moving forward on implementing Sealed and Booster Draft.  This may or may not be a bundled distribution. I believe it will, however, take me a month or so to get it ready.

Hey Joey.  If you modify the card details you run the very real risk of not having your version of the plugin play nicely with others. In that case, you may see different cards than your opponents or you may not work at all. If you would be willing to get me a list of what the preferred choices would be, I can incorporate it into my version that already has all of the Scripture references correct.

I apologize to all for the delays in getting the updates out. Life just always seems to interfere.

Hey Matt, thanks a bunch for making this program available! My macbook and I have been lonely for years haha, I'm hoping to test it out soon!

If you're doing an update here's a few ideas I see so far (you may well have addressed some of these already).
*Change all the "Lambs" and "Reapers" to "Dominants" for easier finding/deck building
*Change all the enhancement names to GE and EE (some say EE, some say Evil Enhancement / GE, HERO Enhancement)
*Could we give the Lost Souls parenthetical names? (Female, NT, Revealer, etc.)?

Sorry, but no.  Both sites have the same data.  What you can do is open the "huge" cards in an image editing program and resize them.

Actually, I have all the images resized in the updated plugin.  Give me a couple of days, and I can upload just the images as a separate download.

Done!  See http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/rtsonline-play/lackey-plugin-huge-texp-cards-update/msg527253 (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/rtsonline-play/lackey-plugin-huge-texp-cards-update/msg527253) for details.

After installing from your latest link and also running LackeyCCG updater I cannot load any deck anymore, not even the supplied starters.
Also when I choose a deck there is nothing shown on preview list - not a single card name!

As soon as I revert back to the download which can be provided from here (http://"https://mega.co.nz/#!jtwl2AhQ!qsITqB0H0MkAASlHcWS0UbUjwtyOF0ZuJlywSRbGnUw") everything works normally again but the plugin version does not match with the one from others who are updated. Even if now only copying over the files from the Update-Package of the new plugin version and following all instructions from ReadMe it does not work. Decks cannot be loaded and are even not shown in preview within Deck Editor.

Any idea on that?

Yes--in reorganizing things, I broke all existing deck lists. This also broke the packs definitions for Booster and Sealed.

I will get a fix out for the starter decks and the packs tomorrow. Personal decks you are going to need to re-create by hand. If you don;t remember what was in them, send the .dek file to me and I can fix it for you.

Sorry :(

BTW the latest update Full-1.2.zip does not work at all. Just deleted everything, reinstalled LackeyCCG and afterwards directly installed Full-1.2.zip into an empty Redemption folder. At the end the Redemption plugin cannot even be loaded within LackeyCCG anymore. After comparing zip contents I discovered that within Full-1.2.zip there are quite less files then within the previos Redemption.zip (for example entire folder packs is missing or the images folder). Does this lead to the impossibility to even load the Redemption plugin now?

Reth, I am going to need your help debugging this, because I am unable to replicate your issue.
Following this, everything works fine for me. (I can even load the lolcats and chess plugins that ship with the installer.)

Here is my plugin layout
(https://www.cactusforums.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi820.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fzz122%2FEmJayBee83%2FLackeyLayout_zps3ace4d41.jpg&hash=7d929d04e31255d51a3703fe2efd98fc86cdf13d)

Yes, there are a lot fewer files, but that was part of the general clean up. Although the images folder is missing (because I intentionally removed it), I do not understand why you do not see a packs folder.

How are you attempting to load the Redemption plugin? What are you seeing when you make this attempt? (Please provide as much detail as you can.) Does your plugin layout differ from the one I show above?  If so, how?

**Double post** (gasp)

I have resolved the broken starter decks and booster/sealed problems and uploaded new files to https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dqk9n95kpleizw7/AAA5iwAihZEGsu4M2yaCXIWka (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dqk9n95kpleizw7/AAA5iwAihZEGsu4M2yaCXIWka).  Full details are given in the OP.

Also, I have received a PM from reth that he was able to successfully re-install Lackey and the original Full-1.2.zip file.

Please let me know if you have any questions/comments/concerns.

Anybody have any luck with using the "paste" function? If so, how did you go about it?

I pasted a deck list into TextEdit, then deleted all the stuff that might throw it off (i.e. if it said (ki) or similar extensions) then deleted the souls since I figured all the nicknames would be off. Still didn't do anything.

Do not know what you exactly mean here? Do you mean copying and pasting of decks within Lackey?

If you've watched the deck building tutorial... or noticed the button on the top right within deck editor... there is function designed to allow you to paste a deck list.

On the surface it sounds as easy as clicking "copy" (thereby putting it on the clipboard) and then using the paste button. But obviously one would need to remove words like "Heroes, Enhancements" from a list to make sure it only contains names of cards. Even then, remove any unnecessary text (i.e. Kings Version, Promo). I did both of these things and had a plain text document filled with card names and Lackey either crashes or does nothing when I click "paste".

So far I used the Copy&Paste of Lackey successfully in the following way:

Hey Matt,
In a future update, it would be great to add the ability to sort deck by alignment. As it sits, its not easy to know if your T2 deck is legal.

Thanks for all you do!

Awesome job with the lackey system.   :D.   Rts had a way you could play yourself to test decks. Can lackey do this as well? If so, how? Thanks.

Any news on getting new cards on lackey? I know there isn't a list on wiki and usually it comes after that. By the way thank you EmJayBee83 and all those who made lackey available for us. I'm glad to have this program it makes it easier and more fun for me.

Thanks, KingLeo
