Title: Theme Decks
Post by: thestrongangel on December 07, 2008, 09:23:09 AM
Don't you think Cactus should make Theme decks?

Like:
Angel/Demon
Musician/Magician
Royalty/Babylonian
Prophets/Assyrians
ETC...

What do you think?

Isn't that kind of what Starter Decks are? And Tins?

You know, theme decks could be kind of fun, yeah....That's sounds really fun, actually....They could make a whole bunch of them, all at about the same playing level....And then we could use them in closed-deck or something, too....Actually, I'm just excited for whatever set comes next, so...

What we're talking about here are pre-made decks, not brigade themes; it's different. There are many variables to consider when making a deck, but with a theme deck you wouldn't have to think at all. Yay! :D

So theme decks would be starter decks that didnt take up a set slot? Im confused...

well a musicians offence would still be white birgade right? and a royalty deck would still be purple right? but if you want pre-maid decks you can go to three lions gaming and buy all the cards ther lol and when it gets to you it would be a deck right?
I still don't think you understand. First of all, if you just went and bought all the cards yourself, the deck wouldn't be pre-made, would it? Second of all, a pre-made deck with no ultra rares or anything would be tons cheaper than buying each individual card from the giant list of every card in the universe. Yes, of course the decks would follow the previously established themes; they would just add more strategy to them!

The last set of starters (G/H) had themes.
G offense: Moses & Plagues
G defense: Demons, Saduccees
H offense: NT heroes
H defense: Egyptians

Also, remember that themes weren't in full swing until FooF.  There haven't been any new starters since then.  Now that the limited release of G/H is starting to thin out a bit, I'm sure thoughts will be made towards a theme-strong set of starters.

Why couldn't you do that with a theme deck?

Theme decks would pretty much just be to stimulate your imagination in strategic deckbuilding, and also maybe to give some lacking themes a bit of a boost. Personally, I think theme decks would be very fun to play in sealed deck, because you could choose your deck from a wide arsenal, instead of just "G or H?" You know what I mean?

Yeha, but you don't choose your deck in sealed. That's the point of it being a surprise. There is no strategy to which deck you get, it's a surprise.

Fine then, whatever, the point is that there are more than two choices. ::)

I was thinking of the same thing before, but it seems like the tins are already starting to bulid our themes out. That cost people to play the same thing, so where would the creativity comes out from us, since every strategies are all build out by the tins, and of course so far these is what I see.

Good:
Blue: Genesis
Green: Prophets
White: Musicians, Garden tomb and NT females, Daniel reference heroes,
Red: Warrior Class,
Silver: Angels,
Teal: Priests,
Purple: Royalties,
Gold: Luke and John,

Evil:
Pale Green: Magicians, Assyrians,
Crimson: Babylonians,
Evil Gold: Egyptians,
Orange: Demons,
Black: Philistines, Sadducee, Greek,
Grey: Syrians, Pharisee, Romans,
Brown: OT human, Persians,

We need to make Brown a unique theme to it. Although there is persians in it, we still need to make it stronger. Maybe another theme to it.

Also, for the goods are pretty good with themes.

The theme decks are basically for people to plan out their strategies, for example: I have a Luke and John/ Greek deck. The reason is the Luke and John hero uses speed and make opponent draw also, and with the newest greek enhancement which I forgets the name, it is a great combo. So that is what we all should do. We should all as redemption player design our own decks because this is what this game all about. We are not going to be like "Pokemon, Yugioh, and Magic," because they are all plan out the theme for us. That is why this strategy game is the best. Thank you everyone.

And Brown has evil Israelites.

Well, Persians (and a few other themes) just got started in FoOF/RoA, so it may take a while to pick up. However, Persian Presidents is still a really fun card to use.

Prince of Persia came in the original blue packs and was very helpful to me recently when banded to The Bear (RoA).
