why do some of the heros have territory class identifiers?

Because they are territory class and are active in territory.

Kind of.  Making characters TC allows them to be active without entering battle.  "While in play..." still has to be activated in battle.

I have not been able to get an updated definition of Territory Class yet. I was hoping to have that page updated along with the new cards...

Has Partners with Demons been errata'd yet?

Second post I've seen about this, why does it need an errata?

Probably because of confusion around discarding a card from your own territory. With the current wording, you could think that you could discard a lost soul from your OWN territory.

I would go a bit further... With the wording as is, the *only* reason someone would would not think that they could discard a lost soul from your own territory is because they know how broken that would be.

Hey,

Be aware, these images are not 100% accurate.  I know at least one and I think two cards that I saw the physical version at nationals were different than the images in this thread.

Gabe told me of three:

 • Abandonment is gold/black.
 • Seek and Destroy is black/brown.
 • Coming of the Spirit should read: "Search deck or discard pile for The Holy Spirit and put in play to draw 2. Cannot be negated."

Not playtested very well. I think clay/heretics will end up being the play this year although I'm not entirely sold on clay yet. Perhaps there's something I'm missing here, but chose doesn't seem all that more powerful than any other brigades yet. Maybe phase 2 will change that but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Erm...if you are looking for powerful EC, there are Hellenistic Jews, Emperor Caius Caligula, and Simon the Magician.  If you want great ability EC that won't get used much in T1 added in, there are also Judaizers, The Sanhedrin, Imposters, and Herod Agrippa I.

There are seriously scary EC in this set, even if you are only looking at it from a T1 perspective.  In T2...

Also, I think doms that aren't super powerful are good for the game because even though there not a staple in every deck, certain deck types will still use them so it's good for variety.

Faithful priest does nothing with tables.  His underdeck to draw happens after a battle not during it and even if it happened in battle, its an underdeck to draw, so if you instead put it on tables you don't gain the draw.

Nicanor's ability works if another decon or widow's table is in play, but widow's table is played to set-aside and is never in play

I built and played deacon deck Tuesday and noticed that mid-game. I pointed out that my opponent couldn't target my Widows Tables unless their card specified set aside area... then noticed the wording on Nicanor's ability. Not a huge deal, but if we can fix it before the mass release that would be great. "If player controls..." would get around the in-play default right?

Good catch guys. We also caught that and fixed it, as well as the infinite loop that's caused by two players controlling Nicanor.

I appreciate the input the community has given on the first phase 1 card release. Rob finalized the list of cards for the second release of phase one. I feel really good about where it's at now. I'll post a complete list of significant changes soon.

I had a thought the other day, has Rob considered doing a "beta phase" where the full image set is released prior to any printing? Maybe give the community 1 or 2 weeks to look over and catch the last few ability changes, identifiers, etc, and then print the end result?

That seems to be somewhat the approach he took this time, with the "beta" being the small print run released at Nationals. While the initial card list for Early Church has been together for some time, the official decision to move forward with it came only a couple months before Nationals causing the phase 1 release to go through testing much faster than usual. Normally, myself and other play testers have time to scrutinize many of the things that slipped through on the "beta" release, but that was not the case this time.

For the record, if you do a hard refresh (Control + F5 on windows, Shift + Refresh on Mac I believe), all of the images in this thread (except Widows' Tables, I had misnamed the image before) will update.
