Definitely not as the fastest or best. Smallest, possibly they can get 1-2 pretty consistent blocks, but that's about it.

I still love my philistine/demon defense. If anyone can beat that defense with that small of a scale. It is so small and so effective. The best really small this year is probably standalone or magicians. I find egyptians good for speed and soul generation but don't pull of enough blocks for me.

Israelite Royalty is an extremely potent anti-meta, and it has a bit of everything: Sitelock, decrease, the best EE in the game, etc.

I agree that it's incredibly powerful, but it doesn't have much speed, and it doesn't work when small.

Oops, I missed "small". My vote is Egyptians for speediest and smallest, Babylonians for most effective at actual blocking, and Assyrians for most effective at other abilities (soul generation, territory discard, etc).

When it stops working. I've used a variation on that defense since 2009. I think it lost all of 10 games over two years.

I don't think that's going to be as viable this year. Too much CBN banding and enhancements, artifact/character discard, and prevention of evil abilities.

I agree. I think it could work, and you'd win a good amount of games, but there are still more viable options.

Grey still has a large amount of draw abilities, but I think that an Egyptian defense would smaller and maybe faster.

Egyptians can draw more off of one block than any other defense. Even more so in T2.
