Title: Side battle deck discard?
Post by: Sunglasses on June 10, 2018, 12:54:59 AM
I'm still learning a lot about the game, but what do you guys think of a Genesis / Egyptian deck discard using something like Cup of Wrath on Joseph (to bring in Hard-Hearted Pharaoh banded to Egyptian Horsemen, equipped with Egyptian Spear and Herod's sword), to take advantage of the deck discard on both your turn and your opponent's turn when you can block with the same characters? That doesn't break any game rules, right?

Afterward can you use Stillness to recur Cup of Wrath, then Jubilee on the next turn to recur Stillness and start the cycle over?

I probably wouldn't play stillness, as it causes you to lose the battle. Using just Jubilee would probably be better, and, if you plan on using joseph, you can also use Sword of the Lord and Visions, which are both green side battle cards. then, you can also throw in ethan or Cloud Daniel so you can get some of the green side battle stuff back. something else to consider throwing in is a clay missionary and Epaphroditus. He's a territory class hero who says while you control a missionary and no hero is in battle, restrict opponents from playing evil enhancements. pretty solid combo if you want to make a deck based around side battles. And, If you would like to go the clay route, there's always faith of gideon if you want another side battle card.

oh, and also, no, that doesn't break any game rules. Seems pretty solid to me! Good luck!

Sweet, thanks! I didn't think about recurring on the green side.

Powerful combos like this seem to work best in Type 2, but can be pulled off in Type 1 less consistently.

Here's a sample of a Type 1 deck (http://www.cactusforums.com/type-1-deck-advice/deck-destroyer-or-d2-(squared)/) that can brutally discard from the opponent's deck. Maybe you'll see something here that works into your version of the deck.

Thank you! I'm actually using many of the Egyptian cards  already and will try the Gabriel / Amasai / Warrior's Spear variant as well.
