Redemption Volunteer Leadership

(1/4) > >>

Redoubter:
Rob Anderson of Cactus Game Design has given a group of volunteers a great deal of responsibility for the game of Redemption.  Without him or the considerable resources and time he puts into it, the game of Redemption would not exist.  Without these volunteers giving their free time to their assigned roles, many aspects of the game would suffer as well.

Each of the groups below has a different role to play in the running of Redemption, but all are made up of passionate individuals who volunteer their time and effort.  Some individuals are in multiple groups based on their abilities or time commitment, while others play a limited role as needed or able.  Each section will remain updated with a listing of those who are members, and following you will find a ‘card’ to represent each volunteer and how they contribute.

Redoubter:
Elder
Brigade: Blue
Identifier: Patriarch

Description: These individuals formed the foundation for the game, many of them counting their Nationals appearances in the double-digits.  Without the help of this group, Redemption would not be where it is today.  An honorary title to recognize the service they have put into the game, the term Elder is also taken literally by others in the community.  Even for roles for which they may not be assigned, the Elders are still consulted based on their considerable experience, skill, and knowledge about the history of the game.

Active Members: Jordan Alstad (Professoralstad), Justin Alstad (The Guardian), Chris Bany (cdbany), Roy (Reyzen), John Earley (Red Dragon Thorn), Bryon Hake (Bryon), Gabe Isbell (Gabe), Tim Maly (SirNobody), John Michaliszyn (faithraider), Mark Underwood (Prof Underwood)

Retired or Inactive Members: Mike Berkenpas, Tom Gibson, Doug Gray, Wily Kludy, Eric Largent, Stephen Schafer, Kevin Shride, Jim Woolcott

Judge
Brigade: Gold
Identifier: Judge

Description: When there is a disagreement regarding the application of rules, need for rule changes, or updates necessary to published rulebooks and resources, the Judges are the ones who meet to solve the problem.  They are also available to players to help answer ruling questions on the boards.

Members: Jordan Alstad (Professoralstad), Justin Alstad (The Guardian), John Earley (Red Dragon Thorn), Gabe Isbell (Gabe), Tim Maly (SirNobody), Dayne Maust (Redoubter), Mark Underwood (Prof Underwood)

Card Designer
Brigade: White
Identifier: Musician

Description: While many people contribute to new sets, either with cards or themes, it is the Card Designers who do a majority of the initial design work.  They are also responsible for keeping the development process on-track.  Without them, new sets would not be made.
Members: Bryon Hake (Bryon), Gabe Isbell (Gabe)

Redoubter:
Playtester
Brigade: Green
Identifier: Prophet

Description: Playtesters take proposed cards and sets to test them, between themselves or in their playgroups.  It is their responsibility to ensure balance with each new set, to determine if there are adverse effects of proposed cards or themes on the game, and to suggest changes or additions to new cards and sets.

Members: Jordan Alstad (Professoralstad), Justin Alstad (The Guardian), Josiah Beers (jbeers285), Travis Brown (uthminister (BR)), Roy (Reyzen), Tim Maly (SirNobody), Blake Maust (Drrek), Dayne Maust (Redoubter), John Michaliszyn (faithraider), Mark Underwood (Prof Underwood)

Administrator
Brigade: Teal
Identifier: Priest

Description: The Administrators either oversee the Cactus Message Boards, monitoring and supporting the mod team and development, or work to oversee the annual National Tournament.  Where they are assigned, it is the responsibility of the Administrator to see their areas run smoothly, so that the community as a whole can benefit from the services they provide.

Members: Chris Bany (cdbany), Roy (Reyzen), John Earley (Red Dragon Thorn)

Outreach
Brigade: Clay
Identifier: Missionary

Description: Redemption is more than a game; it is a ministry tool and teaching moment wrapped in bible study.  Those who work with Outreach are at the front of expanding the game, not just from a business perspective but also as a Christian gaming outlet with opportunities to witness to others.

Members: Travis Brown (uthminister (BR)), Roy (Reyzen), Gabe Isbell (Gabe), John Michaliszyn (faithraider), Mark Underwood (Prof Underwood)

Tournament Host
Brigade: Red
Identifier: Warrior

Description: Tournament Hosts may not be at the same ‘level’ as the other groups in terms of responsibilities and leadership, but without them Redemption would not exist.  All Tournament hosts are on the ‘front line’ of Redemption, bringing people together for gaming and fellowship.

Redoubter:
