While I do thoroughly love Cactus' "no banned card" policy, I feel like the policy of making fortresses and artifacts to counter cards that are too powerful may be worn out. Does anyone else share my sentiment?

Cactus seems to share your sentiment, as it has been making far fewer counters as artifacts in recent years.

The Schaef:
That train left my station about five years ago; at least, regarding Artifacts.

However, I would submit that there were the only support card in the last two sets like that was Pergamum (MAYBE House of Rimmon depending on how you define counters), and I don't see any in the new set either.
