Poll:Disciples increases deck size?
« on: August 03, 2010, 11:23:07 AM »

In the article for Fishing Boat, it was theorized that deck sizes would increase after the release of Disciples.  (I'll assume they meant T1, but hey, discuss T2).  Do you think that T1 will be able to compete in the 100+ deck size?

I dunno, a 100-card T1 Disciples deck could be pretty speedy. With 2x AoCP and a little searching and anti-dom...

But we will have to wait until the set comes out before we can know. :dunno:

I predict 63 being more viable, but standard will still be 50-56.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

There have been some VERY competitive 100+ card decks used here in Ohio.  Uthminister is leading the way and gathering a small army of converts as he beats them.

Nothing against Uthminister, but I've played in tourneys with him for years and never seen him place at any of them.  Granted, placing isn't his goal, and his decks are always unique, and he is really fun as a opponent.

Will I build a 150 card T1 deck with 12 Legions? Of course. Do I expect it (or any other 100+ card T1 deck) to do well? Not really, no.

I've recently been trying a 100+ deck. The defense I have for it works great most of the time, I just need to find an offense that hits fast and hard to avoid timeouts.

+1 I doubt I'll see much changes, I could be wrong. I've seen much of the same standard within the state of FL.

Seeing as it didn't kill speed as much as some hoped it did, I'll bet that decks will stay the same.

Well so far my 133 carder has won two games in an hour or less, and lost two due to some seriously messed up draws. I've used this defense in the same size deck for a while, and those draws were just flat out ugly (Ask smokey, both happened against him. His amazing offense draws didn't help either.)

Still, the two relatively fast wins make me happy. It's working so far.  :)

Heck, my 56 carder lost twice at nats due to some seriously messed up draws.  I lost a lot elsewhere, but for other reasons.

From my experience yesteday playing both Lambo and Prof A, I can say that I think smaller (50-63) and larger (70-100+) have an even advantage to win assuming even draws and well built decks, although faster decks still get dominants much quicker and tend to have better draws.

My decks have become more viable and with the new set (Fishing Boat especially) they will continue to get better. The thing that I just can't drag myself away from is having three of every good enhancement in my deck. It's like playing Redemption with the best of Type-1 and Type-2 at the same time. I guess you could say I am having my Redemption cake and eating it too...

Well, while its not flawless, my 100+ deck is performing better than I expected. when it wins, it can pull it off in 30-60 minutes pretty easily.

I don't think it was said earlier, but my decks are exclusively 154 cards. Probably the best drawing deck I had with that layout was a crimson/orange defense along with a red offense with a splash of gold. Lots of drawing cards and then since my defense was so beastly (about 2/3 of the deck) I would create sidebattles where my opponents enhancements were negated but mind could not be. That way my defense did all of the heavy lifting for my deck and my offense could walk in with a huge banding chain FTW...
