It sounds like someone has a bad case of PIDS (Pre-block Ignore Derangement Syndrome).  ;)

I Googled for info on PIDS and couldn't find anything.  Is it fatal?

 ;)

We'll have to keep an eye on Prof Underwood to find out.  ;)

I don't think there are any [twitch] long-term affects.  Hey what is this rash?

Hey,

Odds are that at some point in the last twelve years I lost a game in three turns, but I don't remember the loss.  It almost happened to me at Iowa State this year, I fulfilled my end of the bargain (giving up three lost souls in the first three turns) but Gabe dropped the ball (didn't have has Son of God and New Jerusalem yet).  He eventually won but it took more than five minutes and ended up with a fairly respectable score.  I'm pretty sure my last 5-0 loss was in the ninth round of nationals in 2005.

I could have sworn you got an RLK beating at Nationals last year. Oh well. I guess it was just an assumption.  :P

I've never lost that quickly.  But even if I had, does that mean there's a problem with the game?  No.  I once lost a Chess game in 2 turns, but I don't see that game having rule-change arguments.

How did you manage that?

It's known as "Fool's Checkmate"... and it happened to me in the first chess tournament I ever played in.

I've definitely lost my fair share of games in less than 3 turns or 5 minutes. The ones that come to mind are when I played Chad Soderstrom at nationals in New York and when I played Eric Wolfe at NV State.

Well, the difference is fairly obvious, there's no random element in chess. If you lose, its always your fault. In Redemption, chance plays a large enough factor in the game that it can completely make or break games.

Yes it is :D I love how every game is different, even if both players are playing the same deck multiple times.

I got three beatings from random former national champions...

I did get beat by a RLK but it wasn't so much of a beating as it was a reminder that I need to be more careful with my access sites :)

I see RLK loses as a good humbling experience (that and just playing down south where last time I only won one game with a deck that I thought would do good :P).
