Title: Players in SE Wisconsin
Post by: Farin on October 17, 2010, 10:42:32 PM
I'm looking for people close by to play with.  I live in Burlington and just wondering where the closest players are  ;D

We have a playgroup that meets in Hartland, WI (led mostly by Ken4Christ4ever, but I also host some of the tournaments). Unfortunately, we aren't having another tournament until January, but if enough people want to get together we could always have an impromptu game night or something :P.

The only playgroups in Wisconsin that I know of are ours in Hartland and the one up in Green Bay. You could double check with Ken4Christ4ever, though. He might know more.

Our tournaments typically have less than a dozen people, so there's not really a strong theme.  With 8ish people, if two guys decide to change decks from round 1 to round 2, that completely changes the metagame, so it's hard to say what exactly it is.  But you'll probably see a few Disciple decks (surprise!).  We don't meet much at all outside of the monthly tournaments, either.  I usually play different decks from month to month.  I'm not really a hardcore player, and a small playgroup tends to catch on if you have repeated success with the same deck, so I change it up often.

That's probably not very helpful, but now you know as much as I do.   :)

The best way to find a playgroup nearby is to teach people and make your own if no one else is around to play. teaching others how to play is really the best way to go. of course you can also go and play with more experienced players once in a while too if you have trouble with distance.
