Title: Online play
Post by: Farin on December 12, 2010, 01:34:54 AM
I saw on the main site there is online play.  what software is used or is it a browser based game?

There are two programs that are used to play redemption online. The first one is RTS(Redemption Table Simulator) and the second one is Hamachi. RTS is pretty much all the graphics and cards for the game and the actual program used to play redemption online. Hamachi is a program that makes it super easy to find people and connect directly to them without having to worry about firewalls and other pc programs that will prevent two players from playing against each other.

Hamachi - https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/licensing.aspx (https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/licensing.aspx)

Choose the free version and install and setup that.
Disable File and Printer Sharing for the Hamachi Network Connection in your Control Panel.

RTS - http://97.64.151.67/Temp/RTS.zip (http://97.64.151.67/Temp/RTS.zip)

Install RTS and build a deck, Install Hamachi, and then post back on here and someone will give you a walkthrough on how to connect to other players and the basics of using both programs to play a game.

Feel free to personal message me if you have any additional questions.

p.s. Please let us know here if you have any problems/error messages when trying to install RTS because they're usually easy to figure out.

You need to find out these things my freind instead of asking us all the time. But I'll help you out this one time; RTS needs helper programs.(AKA use the zip file) And Hamachi is supposed to be a networking program so you you can host games with other people regardless of firewalls.

Actually asking us is a good idea.  But Red is right that Hamachi is a networking program that allows us all to connect to each other.  Once you have in installed, you just need to join a group or 2 with other Redemption players so you'll have people to play against.  There is a thread around here on the forum somewhere that has all the groups listed.

And Red is right that there are a couple of small .dll files or something that RTS is missing, but the guide that someone pointed you to above should help you troubleshoot that :)

We had the same problem. Somehow my brother got it to work by twisting a few nobs.

This is what forums are for....asking questions and getting answers....if you guys are going to continue to be rude and unhelpful, Ill sell my cards and take my business somewhere else! not everyone is like this but I see it more and more and I dont need to take this junk from people, especial a CHRISTIAN FORUM.

Sorry, friend.  Most of us are here to help.  Please don't take the actions of a 12 year old to be representative of the entire Redemption community.  This is a place to ask for help and receive it.  It's also a place for young people to learn how to lovingly communicate in public. :)

Do some reading around and you'll find what you need. Also I worded my reply as to not be rude. I'm trying to help but you still need to explore the boards abit.

Red, its purely the fact that you said I have to find these things out rather then asking....but that's what Forums are for, asking and receiving an answer.  and scanning the boards might help but I'm not going to necro a post, so if I don't find my answer I will need to post.  I would rather post and have someone answer or direct me to a source then scan for 2 hours and never get the answer I need.

Have you installed RTS and Hamachi yet? You probably didn't get any errors with Hamachi, is RTS working properly or do you receive an error message? If so which one? Please give us an update when you can, thanks.

"This error occurred in 'Form_Achivate': line number 40: (err#481) Invalid picture (Originated with RTS)" thats my error...I follow all the steps tell i got this error

As weird as it sounds, I get that error everytime I open RTS and I believe most others also get that same error.

You're almost there, Once you hit OK on that error you should get a message saying that another file is corrupt or needed. You can use the link below to install those required files. Once all required files are installed, You should be able to get into the program, but that original error might still popup each time you run the program, not sure why, but hasn't ever caused me any problems.

Also once you get into RTS, you will not have to update anything else. The RTS link I posted is the newest and most updated version of the program.

When you're in Deck Editor, click Sorting, then Type, then Brigade. He is listed in the Orange/Multiple Colored ECs. He's the First one, after Worshippers of False gods (which is the last gray colored EC)

You're welcome Farin. If you have any other questions, just post on this thread. Feel free to send me a personal message, if you have any other questions as well, and I'll try to do what I can to help you out. Have a great one.

Below is a list of Hamachi rooms to join to find games, if the passwords are not listed, just post on the thread below and ask and someone will reply with the password:

Don't bother to sort by brigade. You can just search for cards by typing their name when you have the right half of the deck editor selected.

My guide helps with more than just installation, it has a guide for the program and connecting with it as well.

Lambo....on your guide the list for RoA was crossed off....where is the list for those?

If you'll notice I say to just use Install method 1. I may just simply delete the posts for the other expansions.

Install/Update method 1 is the only up to date one now.

You have to startup hamachi and join groups that have redemption players in it and are ready to play. Feel free to join:

Group name: danieltsred

Title: Re: Online play

I would think not....you would need to either duel boot in windows OR need a patch.
Title: Re: Online play
Post by: Lamborghini_diablo on December 29, 2010, 11:02:51 AM
Correct. You can only run RTS on windows, so you'd have to dual boot or run a virtual windows environment. I have a mac laptop (as my school required me to get it.... *grumbles*), so I dual booted on there. Its a cleaner and more efficient way to use both OS's.

ewwwww i would find another school.....lol.  But yes...just partition the harddrive and dual boot.
