My wife designed Desecrate the Temple and even made it II Kings vs Jeremiah so that King MB could use it (although the playtesters enhanced the the original ability she made).

The first time I played it after we got our RoA I got to use it to discard her SoG.  She didn't think that the irony was quite as funny as I did. ;D

So what was the original special ability she had on the card when she initially designed it?

I think it only targeted an Artifact in the Artifact pile and couldn't be negated if used by a Babylonian.

I definitely agree with you Steffer. I have a deck with a Babylonian defense and it includes Desecrate the Temple. My original thought when I put it in there is hopefully my opponent will not have a temple or artifact in play and I can just possibly discard their SoG. So on the flip side of that if I have a deck with GotL, Solomon's Temple, and 2 artifacts activated then my SoG is way protected from such a discard by Desecrate the Temple.

But bye, bye to GoTL, your temple and the artifact in it.

A few tournies ago I got to discard Z-Temple and the art in it in one blow. Set fire also got layed down for some fun!

Wait, Desecrate the Temple would discard all 3 cards (Glory of the Lord, Solomon's Temple, and the artifact inside of it) in one turn when it was played? I thought that since it said "Good Dominant, Temple, OR Artifact..."  that it meant only one of the three could be discarded since it says OR.

ont think you can discard all three, but if you discard the temple and an artifact is in it, you get two for the price of one because the artifact gets discarded with the temple.

Right, you can get 2 for 1 unless they have all 3 (Glory/Temple/Art) then you have get rid of Glory first. I think this is the way it should be, and Glory of the Lord might begin to see some serious play in tournament decks, which would be a definite win because it's definitely a strategic dominant.

Edit* I know this is a bit older topic but I think it's a great example of how new cards are helping give more usefulness to older, oft-ignored cards such as Glory.
