Title: Most entertaining card
Post by: SomeKittens on January 28, 2011, 09:45:08 AM
What do you think is the most entertaining card in your collection?  Not the best, or fluffiest, but just plain fun.

For me, it's Phillip.  Phil/Bart is super effective against our local meta, and one person abandoned an entire defense because he couldn't stop that combo.

Naturally, I'm pretty gleeful when I draw him.

If you dont say ANB or Buckler, you don't know what you're talking about.

I can see how ANB can be entertaining (never used it myself, but prophets are high on the list of things I want to try).  Buckler's just a dead meme.

Them's fightin words.  How dare you disparage the mighty Buckler.  I'll have you know I won a local tournament (including the Krazy VP in attendance) the last time I played my deck with that card :)

I'd say Mayhem, but it's won far more games for my opponents than it has for me... :(

Gates of Hell is, by a long shot, the top of my list.
Book of the Wars is another one of my favorites, always grab it when I see it in booster <3.
ANB follows next next along with Stalks of Flax or something.

Eleazar's Sword, Revealer, and Buckler.

I must agree with sauce and say Gates of Hell.

Unless I've been playing it wrong, Doubt + ANB + Mayhem = 3 uses. You can use Doubt as a back-up defense character, or you can use it in an opponents territory so you can battle challenge.  I've used it so many times... I just find it entertaining how it can be used.

Job's Faith. Primarily because of the look on the face of a very experienced player the first time I used it on him. It was early on after Disciples was released, and he didn't really know what it did, since he does more hosting than playing. I attacked him with Job, and he blocked with King of Tyrus.

Other than that, the most entertaining cards are always Booster Draft related. Like the time someone used Yoke of Iron to discard a Coat of Many Colors that had been successfully played on Joseph. Or the time someone used Deception Exposed to discard an Ananias/Sapphira band. Or any time someone uses a single-brigade repel card (like Vain Philosophy or Hate).

Mine would actually be a combo of two cards, Ahimaaz and Mayhem, use Ahimaaz to look at someones hand, see something awesome, like Son of God and New Jerusalem, then play mayhem to make them shuffle it. Or warriors Gabriel, to go through someones deck and discard an enhancement, usually AOC or WOS

Most fun?

Gathering of Angels. That card allows for some of the craziest combos.

It AOCP.... this is there faces when I do ET w/AOCP:    :o   See, I know two people at my playgroup really well, and two of them put all of there EC's out ( which is like 14-16 ) as fast as they can, so I am just waiting for them...Then BOOM ! AOCP!  ;)

-Fun times!

- Well, this is the most annoying card. Evertime I play my speed deck, someone ( caugh:stefferweffer, Caugh) plays Darius Decree when I set all my guys aside.

- Once, I had this happen:

Crazy cars and I were playing a game.

I had the Fallowing Set Aside:

Hur, w/Provisions

Phineas, Joshua, Ahimmiaz, Jeremiah Set aside with Pent.

3 other guys with FF..

His turn... Darius Decree. ( he won 5-4 )

ANB or Estabon: Redeemer of Souls (an apostles Stephen that single handedly won a booster draft game)

You know what else would be fun? Having someone set them aside with pentecost, and then activating Rain becomes Dust... I know on pentecost it says may draw three, but it's disappointing when you set them aside with pentecost and you put that up. Or if someone tries an A-Bomb deck against you and they attack with generous widow because that's the only hero left, and you have it up, they discard two cards every rescue attempt with that hero...

First Fruits doesn't say "may."  Kill five cards?  Heck yes.

Post by: Tom Bombadil on March 16, 2011, 02:22:43 PM
Yeah, that hurts, the only way I can see getting out of that predicament is if you absolutely have no cards in your hand because it say discard one "to" draw four, so if you have no cards you don't get to draw four...

The most fun cards are those cards that set aside a hero face down those are awesome in booster  :)

I once got rescues 4 and 5 in booster by using Samson's Strength (battle prayer the second time) to own Leviathan.

I believe you also got rescue #2 using Sword of the Lord to own Leviathan.
