As in the title: Is Redemption considered a CCG or TCG?
-
Christian Collectible Game
-
Isn't this the only game that could be classified under "Christian Collectable Game" Though?
I see CCG as more of a "tag" for the game rather than a category, but that's why I ask the question. There must be some official designation for the game.
BGG says it's a CCG, Collectable Card Game. Adding to the confusion :D

That's what makes it the best!

TCG is Tradable Card Game.
So I guess it depends on if you are planning on collecting the cards or trading them.
Seriously, CCG and TCG are used pretty much interchangeably to defined the kind of game Redemption is. Originally games of this sort were all lumped under CCG, but then some marketers decided to switch to TCG to emphasize trading rather than collecting (because collecting had connotations of high cost).

I believe it's both. Is there a reason you feel it has to be one or the other?
-
I see it as both myself. I love to play the game, but also love collecting the cards.

Nope, just asking out of curiosity.

The modern nomenclature would make Redemption a TCG (Tradeable Card Game) but long ago it used to be a CCG.
Nowadays a CCG is any sort of collectable card game but you aren't able to trade aka like Hearthstone, while TCG's are your old school trading card game like Magic or Redemption. LCG's are pretty much exclusive to Fantasy Flight Games and their form of fixed expansions.

LCG and "Living Card Game" are both Fantasy Flight trademarks, so definitely exclusive. Other games (e.g., Doomtown Reloaded, now defunct) use the acronym XCG (eXpandable Card Game) for the same distribution model.
Yes, this is more about card game acronyms than anyone probably cares to know. ;)
-
Most gamers refer to games like Redemption, MTG, SW Destiny and others as CCGs.
-
Redemption is the only Living Card Game as it is based upon the Living Word ;)
-
Redemption is GCG: God's Card Game.
-
TCG = Trading Card Game. Idk where you're getting Tradable card game from as that includes a lot of official card games, even if you're not supposed to trade them.
-
With the rise of online card games where trading isn't possible, TCG and CCG have become less synonymous than they used to be and often are used to differentiate paper card games and virtual card games. Contrasted with online CCGs like Hearthstone or Gwent, Redemption is a TCG.
Outside of this context though, I agree as most have said already it can be correctly referred to as either.

With the rise of online card games where trading isn't possible, ...
Just a moot side point .... Pokemon's online version does allow players to trade cards. ;D
