Title: In the clouds
Post by: Ironisaac on March 22, 2016, 08:45:43 PM
Can someone please explain why so many people use in the clouds, and base decks around it?

It involves rehoboam blocking then choosing to use Gabriel (I/J) to recur a silver enhancement (in the clouds) against one of your hero's who gives inish to Gabriel.  Then play in the clouds and send your opponents rescuing hero and Gabriel back to territory.  With Gabriel you can do this every block once your set up.

It's basically like Josiah said.

I have a feeling we're going to see a lot more clouds next year!

Is there going to be a lot more side battles this year possibly in the next set?
I had this in the clouds combo in my t 2 deck for the t 2 tournament

The combo is really good it just has to many weak spots. Rehoboam and Gabriel are both negatable. (Minus gates of Jerusalem) in the clouds can be easily removed from a discard pile. It requires you to play hero's who give up inish to Gabriel. In the clouds on its own is very weak and doesn't give you much benefit for a card slot.

I tried to make it viable in a GoJ TToD deck 2 seasons ago and kept dropping the combo for more effective and consistent cards.  Not saying it's impossible to make competitive but in the 10 or so games I played with it in tournament play I pulled it off 0 times.

Gabriel is great but he does present the problems you mentioned.

Fortunately with this (http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/redemption/images/9/98/Letters_to_the_Thessalonians_%28TEC%29.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150305150405) you don't have to rely on Gabriel alone.

You're trying to trick me into giving away something. Twon't work.

It has worked! You've given everything away! I know what the new cards are!

Too many judges offenses with bullet proof Gideon I'm thinking...  but I got run over by one at the Type 2 only...The offense complemented the defense quite nicely and it even had a "Raiders Camp" back-up plan  :maul: lol, technically it was a good back up plan.
