I know there is a new class and I just want to make sure I understand before I use them. So I play one on my hero pre-battle and when he enters battle it activates and then is discarded? Is this right and is there something else I am missing?
-
If it is played in battle treat it as just another enhancement. The only difference is you can play it during your preparation phase only if you have a matching color hero or EC in your territory.
-
It's basically like any other enhancement, except that you can play and then immediately discard it on a hero of matching brigade in your territory during your preparation or discard phases.
-
Just to be clear, territory class enhancements are not placed on the character if used out of battle, they are actually played outside of battle.
-
If you play a territory class enhancement in battle...it is played ON a character like any other enhancement and can be negated just like any other enhancement.

I don't really know what you were saying here. Did you mean what I edited? If so I strongly believe that is incorrect.
-
No, I said it the way I meant to.
The territory class doesn't let you place the enhancement on the character for it to activate when they enter battle (as Agur does, and as 3-Liner thought), but instead you play it, and it activates (and is usually discarded) while the character is still in territory (similar to healing cards, but not really).
-
oh ok...well in that case you are right! I was just a little confused.

No one even suggested that. Why would you bring it up?

Yeah 3-Liner actually did. If you read what he asked closely...take another look.

I see.
-
yeah I didn't see that the first time either.
-
So territory cards stay active until the character it is "placed" on enters battle? But Is technically set aside?
-
No.
It's basically like any other enhancement, except that you can play and then immediately discard it on a hero of matching brigade in your territory during your preparation or discard phases.
BTW, this is only unless the card specifies otherwise.
-
So basically it is an enhancement used outside of battle?
-
Yeah, pretty much.
-
Yeah, pretty much.
So they aren't able to be negated then outside of battle then right?
-
If you play a territory class enhancement out of battle, you play it, carry out its effect, and discard it. That all happens in your preparation phase. Then you make a rescue attempt. OR you can save it and play it in battle, but then it is like any other enhancement.
Yeah, pretty much.

Nope :)

OK, now I'm confused. I thought you could play dominants, any time, any turn, no matter what. I didn't think it had anything to do with whether a battle is resolved or not??? My hubby is still stating that since I hadn't put my grubby little paws on the LS, that the LS wasn't redeemed, even though we had both discarded our EC.

Does this have to do with Territory Class Enhancements?
-
TC Enhancements are played kind of like healing and set-aside cards. In fact, if those were reprinted today, they would almost certainly be printed as TC Enhancements.
If you play them in battle, they're just like any other Enhancement. Or, during your Prep or Discard phase, you play it on a matching character in territory, do what it says, and then discard it right away (unless it instructs you to place it somewhere else).
-
Healing is a little different, isn't it? I mean, healing enhancements are more flexible as to when you can use them, if I'm not mistaken.
-
Yes and no. That's why I said it's "kind of like" those cards. But I think the rules on play will be tightened up a little bit in the near future.
-
Thanks everybody for all of the help. TC cards are going to abused in the near future ; )
