Title: Garden Tomb and Ends of the Earth questions
Post by: stefferweffer on February 20, 2009, 02:17:56 PM
1)  Does one Garden Tomb work for all players who have those characters, or only the player whose territory the fortress is in?  If it works for all players, then I should be careful about my opponent banding in my "garden tomb" characters, correct?

2)  Does the multi-color site "The ends of the earth" (NT heroes have access to all sites) only activate when I bring it into battle, so that it only works for me?  Or is it "always on", so it also does the same for my opponent's heroes?

Thanks for your help.

I have no clue what RED's cryptic response means.

For #1, it does work for all players, since it doesn't specify "your." Anyone's John, for instance, gets the power.

For #2, the site's ability only has effect in battle. I am trying to think of why that's the case, since sites like Jerusalem and Hormah are always in effect. Maybe someone else can help me out here.

1) yes, so be careful

2) the site has to enter battle. Your opponent can't benefit from it unless they can steal it somehow (I think it's doable)

Danties attack, Taking Naboth's vineyard, etc would steal it. Also +1

That's an excellent question.  You got me curious so I went searching.  Here's what I found.

Quote from: Redemption® Rulebook > Diagram of a Turn > Preparation Phase
Site Maintenance
......The special ability on a single-colored site is active only while it is occupied.

Access to a Site
......The special ability on a multi-colored site is active only when the site is in battle and being used to give a Hero access to a site.

That's interesting, thanks for finding that! I guess that means there can never be made a multicolor site that has an ability like "Evil Characters gain 0/2 when blocking a rescue attempt at this site."

He is saying,"post The Garden Tomb's effect. For 2, no. It has to be in battle."
