I think there are a few poisons you could play outside of battle with High Places...but no one uses poisons anyway. :P

If you mean without the aid of High Places or some other card, the answer is no.  Poisons do not work like healing cards.  If that's not what you meant, then BB is right, High Places is the way to go.
