Is there any word on a new set?
-
TeP was released to the general public less than 3 months ago, be happy with your 60 new cards until at least January-March :P
-
I think it's about time for a new starter set IMHO.
-
way too early to be thinking about a new set acry
next release is starter, no doubt in my mind, it's time to introduce teal, orange, curses, and the territory class cards to the future new players and it's been too long since G/H was released
-
I must agree, starters seem necessary.
-
That was said last year too, but according to some, TxP is Amazing, despite not being a starter set.
-
I'll take another set like TexP over a start deck any day. Actually, I can't think of anything else I'd rather have. TexP might just be the best set ever!
-
Warriors was the best set ever for its time, TexP is the best set for its time, ten years from now 'Deacons of the bible' will be the best set for its time.

Only if they finally make an Apostles deck able to compete with top decks. I'm still amazed that this many years into the game's lifespan that these guys are still so useless.
This is with the obvious exceptions of John and possibly Peter and Judas (if you count ECs).
-
One of these days Deacons will rule the Redemption world mark my words!
-
One of the reasons why TexP is good is because it isn't diluted by common and uncommon cards that tend to have weaker special abilities. Sure TexP is good, but compared to what Warriors was for that time, TexP is far behind.
I think Priests could be argued for being a better set than TexP. It brought much more to the game and had very few "junk" cards for being such a large set.
As for the next set, if the recent past is any indicator, I would predict a set of 40 cards. 2009: 60 card set, 2008: 90 card set + 10 Promos for next few years, 2007: 100 card set. The game on the whole is desperate for an updated rulebook and a stater set is required for that. My hope is that a new stater pack is released with an updated rulebook but I wouldn't be surprised if the set was even smaller than TexP.

Actually, Women was an excellent set. Flattened rarity, some solid cards that have been reprinted, and the ever-annoying Falling Away. Its biggest "contribution" was the first negating characters, Job's Wife and Sapphira. (Don't get my son started on this-he considers it the biggest mistake Cactus ever made with Redemption.) I remember the polling over which Women cards should be reprinted, and my top 10 contained 20 cards. Not bad for an 81-card set.

Wow, some strange things happen up in Jersey.

I think it would be neat to see New starters with totally new cards. Make the starters based on themes not heavily used in previous sets. I.E. not just Priests or Apostles. Maybe they could use deacons. They could even make the two decks sell seperately, like some of the other games out there, and release 4 instead of just 2. They could be in their own (regular sized, unlike Foof and RoA) deck tin, you could buy the one you wanted most, then get the others as you go the cash. Don't know if it would be a good idea or not because it is late and I am tired, good night all. ;D
-
They should totally do an Apostle/Deacon offense! The opposing defense could be demons. We also desperately need some good Red warriors aa well as Syrians, who've been in the toilet for too long.
-
Syrians are amazing. Red has David's Might Men Red (IMO) has some of the most versatile and stongest battle winners in the game - The problem with red isnt' that it doesn't have enough battle winners its that it lacks Interupts and CBN stuff.
-
lacks interupts ??? it has more interupts then any other brigade.
-
No it has Negates - I mean cards like Jordan Interupted or Swift Beings.
-
It has a few nice interrupt cards, my favorite being Battle Cry, and of course it has its hoard of negates, so I don't think it really needs an ITB Play Next, but if it had at least one more CBN battle-winner, or a way to make enhancements CBN, I think it could truly be competitive. It also wouldn't hurt to have a few new warriors. I mean, if you combine them with another brigade, there might only be like three characters in the starter, and I'd betcha at least one of those would be worthless anyway.
As for Syrians, they are certainly not amazing. They're most likely the weakest brigade, as their strategy is based on capture. Little else holds them together right now. They have no awesome battle-winners made just for them like most other brigade do. Naaman is pretty much the only way to get CBN, and his Chariot is pretty much the only way to get initiative. Gray has almost no battle-winners that can't be protected from, the rest being capture for the most part, which is the most easy to protect from. Shobach isn't too big a help.
-
Syrians need a few syrain only card but grey in general does not need a bost.
-
i'll tell ya what: i still think Red needs more of a boost instead of relying on banding.
there needs to be more battle winners in red
-
I think we need to expand all of the colors except Black! I like the idea of having 3 different strategies you can use within each color. You can even do a mix of the 3, because I like multi-dim. things! ;D

Must be a BCS thing. ;)
-
I think most offensive themes need a lot more boost than defensive themes in general.
-
TxP's are amazing!!!
